No
Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
In the planetary demographics sections I want to prioritize my founder species that are synthetics (ascended). In the assembly - select species section - the yellow indicator can be set on "Any Species" and any robots that are not my founder species. When clicking on either of my species the yellow indicator disappears. I still get the lock icon in the corner of the portrait and it displays the species I clicked on. But the portrait / robot being assembled will be a random that is not from my main species. (Screenshot 36).
I have not yet noticed that my own species will get chosen when "Any Species" is selected. In that case I can only grow my founder species by assimilating other non-robot species.
Ironman game.
Steps to reproduce the issue.
Start a game with a biological species. Ascend to synthetics and try to select that species as assembly priority in the planetary demographics section.
