My Capital Habitat keeps switching to a different designation

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I started out as Void Dwellers so my capital started as a habitat, there were no issues with this for the first 100 or so years in game. Around the time I started ascending my worlds (though this may have been a complete coincidence) my capital seemingly randomly switched to "Research Station" designation instead of "Empire Capital" designation, and I'm unable to manually change the designation. I switched capitals and the new capital got the proper designation. A few decades later this happens to my new capital as well. I try switching my capital back to the first capital but that doesn't change the designation, though changing it to a new habitat or world does give it the proper Empire Capital designation.
