Can you tell us the exact sequence of events that lead to this pic

Basically I found both the anomaly that always spawn a project that always give military theory and statecraft research trait. I also had the Baol precursor, which the secret always give biology to the one who finish researching it, which I actually didn't know until a few moment before that picture, as was only the second time I ever got the Baol.

On the same game I also got the genius computer researcher that give you a bunch of free techs. Sadly I lost my uber society researcher to election a few years later and he is now just an above average ruler (fertility preacher and charismatic, with a fleet expansionist agenda)

I hate it when my scientists and admirals get elected. It's the main reason why I like dictatorial and imperial authority and dislike playing democracies.

With 200 influence in reserve I can get around that. Also, with life extension traits/techs (or synthetic ascension) it's possible to avoid the problem altogether. It also helps that I tend to set victory date to 2350 and play with reduced tech costs.

Not really an issue for fanatic egalitarians once that faction backs a candidate. They are so easy to please and can generally keep over 50% support for the faction without too much trouble. I personally like democracies for their RP value in the sense that once a party wins, I start to transform society according to its ethics. I once had xenophobes come to power in a xenophile - egalitarian federation involved empire despite the huge chances against it and it was a lot of fun to transform that government into a bigoted dictatorship (since it could not count on the loyal support of the populace a second time with Space Soros around to stop them!)

It's even worse when your Dictator sides with the filthy Egalitarian Rabble and gives their faction a ton of attraction.

This is what poison is for, but I guess not everyone can be Londo Mollari.
