Hi,

i upgraded my computer recently to a macbook pro 16inch, and the game runs very slowly and poorly on it. I can’t even have a fullscreen resolution that utilise the maximum of the graphics card installed on it.

Is it possible to have a fix for that?

2.4, 8core i9
64gb ram
5600 pro M radeon graphic card.

Does this happen right from the start of a new galaxy, or only in mid or late game?

Does it affect time passing, zooming or scrolling the map, loadm imes? All of those?

It's very unusual for the game to not be able to run at the same resolution as your Mac desktop, not sure I've seen that before. How odd!
I can’t even have a fullscreen resolution that utilise the maximum of the graphics card installed on it.
Looking at the end of that system.log you ought to be able to run up to 5120 x 2880 (although that may slow things further) - what options do you see in the launcher or in-game resolution choices?

Do lower resolution choices help the speed? How about smaller galaxies with fewer stars?

here are the only resolutions i see. I can't event see the max one like you suggested :

if i choose any resolution other than 1536 x 960 i get huge black bars on screen and I can't see the whole interface.

and i don't know if there is a confusion but i have a Macbook pro 16inch 2020.

There's a complete mismatch between those and what you see in the launcher. That 1536x960 you mention is not in either place, how did you select that? And settings.txt shows yet another one 2560 x 1440

Can I see pdx_settings.txt also? That is the one made by the launcher, which gets passed into settings.txt (or should!).

And, what happens in windowed mode?

Well in window mode, the only selection that works is 1792x1120, the ones over that I only see part of the game screen as if the rest is out of the computer. In window mode the game is slow too.

so, to be able to play full screen, i have to go to apple menu, system preference, display. then change my setting to a scaled display of 1536x960. then launch the game. set the same resolution in the launcher and play the game. at that resolution it is buggy and sluggish

I see. That is not one of the resolutions the game detects as it being able to use on your hardware so I'm not surprised it has trouble. Can you not use one that is?
