But that is by design. The game is supposed to become more like a grand strategy game after the early parts. You aren't supposed to just survey and colonize for 100 years.
Then again: You can always choose a 1000 stars galaxy and only put a minimum of AI enemies in it, if you want to stretch the exploring phase.
Worth watching for the Arumba salt alone ,he'll be working on Arumba's Adjustments #1 as we speak![]()
There's an Einstein quote which fits better, I think.
"The two most common elements in the universe are hydrogen and stupidity, but not in that order."
Aruba sure was pissed. Hope Wiz fixes that fallen empire so it utterly crushes Arumba.![]()
I couldn't watch the full stream so i want to ask if it was explained why the Tentacular Triumph was able to colonize a world in the middle of the xenophobic fallen empire (i tought fallen empires have instant first contact)? And are they suffering for it like arumba does?

And there is additional need for a downside for Rivals... i would propose slowly getting a militaristic shift in pops and rising unhappiness if you dont attack your rivals. Also maybe events that rivals pops are planting bombs etc to stir tension
Sure, it is. I read about how game phases are supposed to work but seeing how much details were put into "exploring" phase with all those anomalies, first contacts, exploring (i can't watch a stream yet, but do ppl even have proper explorers to study high-level anomalies in such conditions?) and such, its a shame that this phase is completed so fast. I can understand people who want to start playing "Grand strategy" part ASAP, it just feel that all "exploring" is finished too quick on "normal" settings.
Playing on bigger map with less other races surely can help. But will balance be OK in such conditions because right now it feel like a trade-off - you either have a "proper" Grand Strategy part (that obviously require a lot of Empires) or Exploring part.
