Ok, guys, this may be different but here goes. I haven't played Stellaris but I've watched quill18 play and he did an amazing event chain, The Worm in waiting. I've found it on the wikia and it's amazing. My question is, do you have any suggestions for short stories or, better yet, full fledged books like that event chain? I've already read the entire Lovecraft, Hyperion Cantos and Clarke's Sunstorm trilogy. Thanks everyone

Given your reading list, I'd highly suggest "Creatures of Light and Darkness" by Zelazny, it's cosmic mythological sci-fi with some cosmic horror elements.
I dunno about books but that specific event chain was written by Alexis Kennedy, his writing and style are very distinctive so if you want more like it you could try his games like Sunless Sea and Cultist Simulator. Especially the latter is all him. You could also ask him on Twitter for some book recs, I imagine there'll be a decent bit of cosmic horror.
