hi, i just wanted to put some light on the fact that the AI has no access to most events that a player can have access to.

i'm for the possibility to give AI equal rights that players have , and have access to all the player events . (precursor for example)

and i think would help too against players snowballing effect .

things like research on this thing give you 5% extra energy , this will give you 10% bonus on phisics research , this will give you that or this 5000 minerals , 100 influence for not studing a vase etc.

There are AI-exclusive anomalies.

I'm sure there isn't an AI equivalent to every anomaly or event chain, but there doesn't need to be. I don't think the AI would perform much better if it had access to brain slugs or precursor homeworlds.

and i think would help too against players snowballing effect .
The only working cure against player snowballing effect is progressive instead of constant AI difficulty.

A well known and observable effect is when the AI is very strong in the beginning but weak toward end game.
The fact is quite opposite, the AI does not become weaker but rather player snowballing effect takes place, the AI is however constant, therefore it's difficulty modifiers must change over time to counterbalance human player.

But wait, yes there is an option to let you chose progressive AI difficulty in game options, so why doesn't that work?
Simply because it doesn't let us chose the starting AI difficulty, instead it starts at zero and as such it's effectiveness cancels out because player snowballing effect is stronger.

Imagine game start at "Admiral" difficulty and progressively growing in strength and bonuses over time up to 400% until end game? (as configurable option)

EDIT:
In gal civ 3 game, player can modify AI difficulty during gameplay, for example you start game with normal AI, and later in game you adjust all AI's to "insane" or max.
I find this very useful.

The AI should have 'fake' events that just give the outcomes of normal events.

Honestly I wouldn't mind if their events were BS and cheaty too. I'd love to see special AI events that make them look different to outsiders. Give them a small pirate fleet or caravanner fleet from some events. Throw some of them a guardian in the mid to late game. Give some of their pops special traits for you to pick up from them later, etc.

It's definitely a problem that the AI empires don't have access to so many of the ways players can scale up their power. I understand why, as I don't think the AI is equipped to navigate events (though the options for events do have AI weighting if I recall, so I'm not sure why that isn't used). I think it would be great for them to scale up their power, too, regardless of difficulty, just so that they get an equivalent to the bonuses players get from events. Even if it's just a small constant increase to certain core resources, it would help, and could be another thing increased by difficulty so that the difficulty modifiers don't have to be constant or scaling starting at 0.

Naturally, though, anything like that will be met with complaints about the AI "cheating," which is a position I strongly disagree with, but the question of whether the rival empires in Stellaris should follow the exact same rules as the player is a long time conflict. It seems like the devs' philosophy is that the only thing the AI gets access to that the player doesn't is the difficulty modifiers, but removing access to stuff the player can use is fine. I imagine that's more because it's less noticable unless you specifically look for it, so it doesn't get criticized as harshly rather than it being a carefully thought out policy.

i get that the player snowballing is not cause ONLY by this, but you have to considerate that this is still a "grand strategy" as such, any advantage , even just 100 influence can snowball in a massive difference in power in 50-100 years .

while it by itself will not fix evrything like magic, i think that even just the fact that only players get the precursor is a MASSIVE factor, just think about the fact that finding the system itself is worth 1 tradition step .

i get that the AI is incapable of actualy investing those resources in way that player could use snowball, but whats the point of " normal difficulty" that give the AI and the player no buff, if in actualy the player is feeded random resources and buffs. whats the point of grand admiral , if the player get all sort of events and buff that make him stronger by way not chained strictly to resources.

a player will always be superior to AI , but this is bulling.
