Description
Hivemind Necrophage cannot assemble their subservient species

Game Version
v3.1.1 (22a5)

What version do you use?
Steam

What expansions do you have installed?

Do you have mods enabled?
No

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I created a hivemind necrophage. Right now i have monthly pop assembly but i can't select organic pops for assembly. Not my main species, because of the necrophage trait. But neither my subservient species because i am a hivemind.

As described in the dev diary:
"Hive Minds generally cannot support non-Hive individuals within their empire except as Livestock, and Necrophage Hive Minds are no different there. However, unlike other Hive Minds, Necro-Hives will allow their Livestock to procreate. The Livestock can then be subsumed into the Hive via Centers of Elevation."

Necro-hives allow their pops to procreate, so they should allow to clone them too.

Steps to reproduce the issue.
Create a race with the origin necrophage and the government hivemind then try to select species for pop assembly.

Ok so I looked into it, and Necrophage pops can be assembled, they just get a -75% Assembly Speed. But you need to have some "Organic Pop Assembly" for the option to show.

As for the bug with the prepatent species here, it's because Hive Empires can only use organic pop assembly on species with the Hive-Minded trait.
At least I too think that's a bug.

It's set in "\common\game_rules\00_rules.txt", "can_species_be_assembled", lines 715-768:
Code:
        AND = {
            is_organic_species = yes
            if = {
                limit = {
                    root.owner = { is_hive_empire = yes }
                }
                has_trait = trait_hive_mind
            }

But as you can see in the picture, i can't select any pops and i do have organic pop growth.

Well, no actually, I can't see it. I know it says 2.1 under "Assembling", but you have the icon for robotic pop assembly instead of organic. I also can't see that you actually have any occupied job giving organic pop assembly (Spawning Drone), though if you didn't that would be weird too.

But all of that doesn't even matter, when I made that post, I had just started a new game with the same conditions (and without any mod of course) and I could assemble Necro pops.
I just did it again, still works. Still can't assemble the prepatent species too.

Besides, why would they even give a penalty to pop assembly if that's not possible in the first place?
So what I'm wondering now, is why do you have that other bug...

... well I just now realized something...
I didn't use a Lithoid Necrophage.
Lithoid get a -25% Pop assembly, added with the -75% from Necro, that means -100%, so no pop assembly.

You're right i didn't even notice the icon.

The only difference between the two pictures is that i canged my main species from lithoud to organic.
So with 0 bio pop assembly the icon turns to robotic, two bugs for the price of one!

Hello!

Thank you for the report!
We have added the issue to our bug database.

Since there are two issues here allow me to explain, the fact that Necrophage Hiveminds cannot assemble their secondary species is working as designed. Hiveminds can only assemble pops with the "Hiveminded" trait.

The second issue is indeed a bug, Lithoid Necrophage Hiveminds should not be blocked from assembling their main species.

Hello!

Thank you for the report!

The second issue is indeed a bug, Lithoid Necrophage Hiveminds should not be blocked from assembling their main species.
So hiveminds grow their species with the spawning pools. and since that's not really cloning they can't grow other species like that.
But when my subserviant species got the budding trait, will i be able to organic pop assemble them using only their budding speed and not the spawning drone pop assembly bonus.
Or will their budding trait aid in the assembly of the main species?
