Steam

empires have a 0 yearly change to what I did to the Caravaneer's home station and fleet.

Steps to reproduce the issue.
Unsure what caused this, I jumped my ships into a caravaneer's system, waited for my ships drive to come back online so that they'll be as powerful as before then destroyed the caravaneer's station

All threat empires are happy when you wreck havoc on the galaxy, but it looks like you spotted on a nice typo.

In /common/opinion_modifiers/00_opinion_modifiers_megacorp.txt:

Code:
# Destroyed Caravaneer Tradestation
opinion_destroyed_caravaneer_home = {
    opinion = {
        base = 40
    }

    max = 100

    decay = {
        base = -1 <------ YEARLY DECAY SHOULD BE A POSITIVE NUMBER
    }
}
Either this, or remove the decay section if the modifier is to be permanent.
OR
Opinion was actually designed to rise from 40 to 100 in 60 years (?!), and the syntax has changed/is erroneous.

Both values are indeed wrong and still exists in 3.4.5. It just makes no sense to make a bug report to PDX. Absolute simple typo fixes or very simple fixes or given full solutions are completely ignored.
There is no excuse for this, it just feels chaotic disrespectful or very strange at best to the time effort of help willing or all paying players.
It just makes it 100% clear that the devs only read bug reports 1 or 2 days a week.
It makes no sense if they thank the bug reporters they only take randomly 1 from 100.
If you tell them in chat they say nothing or "make a bug report", just absolutely annoying.

PS: One inevitably gets the suspicion that the devs prefer fixes for which they get paid.

It's also possible that it's in the pipeline, but slated to be implemented alongside a change in, say, 4.x.x

There was a bug for *years* where someone had typo'd the ability to steal relics from homeworlds, with a exact callout to the file, line, word, and correction, for at least 2 years, before it was fixed when a ton of rework was done to an adjacent system.

It would be nice if the custodians had someone keep an eye out for simple typos like this and impliment them immediatly, but the version control headaches it would induce could negate any gains from such an endeavor.
