Game won't load with Star Trek: New Horizons mod

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
The game had been working properly for weeks, then this morning it stopped loading. I tried to "resume" my game in the Star Trek: New Horizons (STNH) mod, but after the initial load, the second load stops at 50%. If I clicked it showed the attached image and the gamer crashed. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game - no luck. I tried unsubscribing from the mod and using the original playset, but neither solved the problem. I'm sure I'm just in over my head and would really appreciate if if you could help me solve the problem. Thanks.

But you realize stellaris got a big update and your mod might not ready to work with the new version? Did you check compability? If yes report to the modder, if not you should go back to old version of the game.

Thanks for the quick reply. Can you please tell me how to check compatibility?
It's mostly in modders hands to set the version the mod ist running. You can check in the 'playset' category from the paradox launcher. It will show you a orange triangle saying something like: "This mod is made for another version of the game (3.3.x)" When you hovering over it. You can also check the workshop page of the mod (when you use steam).

Thanks. I tried launching from the Paradox launcher, but it cannot locate the installed game. I tried selecting the folder where the game files are saved, but it says it's not valid. Is there a particular folder I should select?

Just found the mod in steam workshop, there is a discussion people having this issue with stopping at 50%: https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/discussion/688086068/4839692156558969501/

So Mod needs to be updated to somehow fix it.

I would in general not play same savegame over a big patch. Usually it always creates some problems because some mechanics changed and the savegame might not have all the new data. In steam you can downgrade your version via the beta tab in properties of the game. I don't know how other platforms do this.

In general, when Stellaris has a major patch, the mods also need to get a major patch. Since mod devs are unpaid volunteers, it varies how frequently the mods are able to be updated. ST:NH has a dedicated volunteer team behind it, but they usually take their time to extensively test and iron out kinks before releasing. Expect at minimum a week before you may see a patch.

For what it's worth, Star Trek: New Civilizations is already updated. It has similarities and differences to ST:NH that you may or may not like. You can find that mod on the Steam Workshop here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfi...496498&searchtext=star+trek+new+civilizations
