Ouuu this is a hard job. In the past 15 years ther are no good space games, some haw a hew good options for gameplay but in big picture Master of Orion 2 is still best after over 15 years

Distant Worlds is easily the best space game ever made, it just costs an absurd amount and it has pretty low end graphics - also many people are not even aware it exists.

Just hope Stellaris is as good, but with the Paradox touch and it will be a winner.

This looks poised to be soo fantastic.

I do hope there is some sort of CK2 like character development / dinasty at least in some races... I know it's a lot to ask, but the character based aspect makes games so much more engaging, at least for me, and I think I'm not alone in having a vast preferrence for CK2 over EU4 for that very reason...

You know that whole thing is fun but every time I make a successful dynasty in CK2 I feel like it becomes too hard to keep up with who is who and what to do with them. One moment you're worried about your family's future, next you've got ten kids and thirty or so grandchildren and having to worry about all the betrothals and micromanaging.

For example, Endless Legend, a 4X title, allows levelling up of heroes/generals, picking and choosing skills. But EU4 doesn't because it concentrates on a realm, which makes it too impersonal for my taste.

this game sounds somewhat similar to distant worlds, hope for same level of automation but paradox level of diplomacy.

Please not; The automation in Distant Worlds to often interferes when it should not, like ordering my ships back to base to refuel when I want them to reach their target with 5% fuel left...
