I hope religion plays some role in the game. I know it is mostly ignored in other space games (who oftentimes use religion to justify part of one races backstory/traits), but I think a lot could be done with spreading and maintaining a religious belief, or fighting to keep foreign beliefs/any belief out. A really cool game-changing event could be that further exploration has proven beyond a reasonable doubt the existence of God, or Gods, or, alternatively, prove a complete lack of a Divine Presence, which could greatly affect one's civilization.

It's nice to have an expansion packs for CK2 and EU4, but we need new games to keep things fresh and exciting for us.

Stellaris got my attention. I can't wait to see what else you have done with this game.

List of exciting things between now to 2016

  • Two more major expansion for CK2.
  • More expansion for Eu4.
  • Hearts of Iron 4.
  • Pillars of Eternity: The White March.
  • Cities Skylines new expansion, After Dark.
  • New game from Paradox, Stellaris.
  • Paradox is currently working on project Tiberius and Titus.
I feel like Paradox is spoiling us, which is a good thing.

I wonder how the power projection will look like in Stellaris. In many games it's impossible to have any kind of asymmetric warfare once someone grows too big for others to be contended with. I hope that Victoria-like features (such as population, economy, etc.) and expanded diplomacy will help "cut down to size" the biggest empires or at least managing to grind their aggressive expansion to a standstill.

Nice Themlar Cross.

I'm not really too hyped for this, since I'm not really into these types of games.
I WILL follow the development, of course. Hopefully they make something unique and grand.

Someone said that roman emperors signify non-historical GSG, so Tiberius and Titus projects can be sci-fi or fantasy. Almost certainly it can't be Victoria 3, because Podcat is working on Hearts of Iron 4.

I wonder if "symetrical start" that Doomdark mentioned means that during every playthrough you will start just after discovering faster-than-light speed, but you can encounter already more advanced species or it means that every species in the galaxy start the game just after discovering faster-than-light speed. I would like to see the first option as it is in my opinion more realistic than the second one which would make the game more like Civilization games. Could one of the devs post something about it?

If the hints given before meant anything I think that we may see Victoria 3 eventually, but Rome 2 isn't going to happen.
Paradox seems uninterested in Rome except when they can use it as a running joke for the Forums, I suggest to start asking for games that actually have a chance to be made at this point.

Couldn't agree more.
It should also be possible you are the only one starting out with faster than light speed and everybody else are trapped on their planets for a while.

I don't think they are uninterested, it's only that doesn't make sense to them to release a Rome game when TW Rome II and Attila are still hot. I bet they will release something like it in 2017.

It's possible for minor factions at least, yes. You can meet pre-space-faring species.

Or maybe you train the world’s greatest scientist-adventurers, create the most advanced ships in the universe, and set up silent listening posts on the moons orbiting planets that are home to pre-spacefaring species. You can learn from them, guide them and eventually become their patrons. You are a Banksian Culture.
