Stellaris gains a new friend!

So I've been talking with a coworker at work about Stellaris and I got him interested in the game.

Today after work I showed him a little bit of the empire creator and I think that put him over the edge in becoming a fan of the game. He was very impressed with the species types you can choose from (he laughed when he saw the Starfish) and liked the traits you can pick from.

He is also looking forward to Banks as well especially due to the fact that I've been telling him about all the new stuff coming with the update!

So pretty much...

Well seems I have convinced another person to take an interest in Stellaris.

This is why Stellaris has the broad popularity that most other Paradox games do not. People really like creating their own factions in strategy games, and Stellaris has one of the best faction creators in the genre.

Unfortunately, this is more due to the fact that most other 4X games either have a barebones faction creator, if they make one at all. I'm not saying Stellaris is bad or mediocre at this, its faction creator does quite a good job, but other games put very little effort into faction creation. I would love for something like the Ethos system in any other strategy game, but most 4X faction designers only have the equivalent of Stellaris's trait system, and very little else to customize your empire.

I've managed to convince 5 different mates to buy it, yet i'm the only one playing it. After convincing 3 of those to buy HOI4 too(they don't play that either) i'm sorta torn whether or not i did a good thing here.

Yep, albeit what was the seal-deal for my friend (who's a long-standing Halo-Fan) was the fact you can build Ringworlds in the upcoming patch.

I have to make sure to remember creating a 'The Flood' Aggro Hivemind to seed into out MP game.

Stellaris is exactly like CK2 where I played vanilla, then returned once the DLC's/Mods were released and fell in love.
