The empire now wanting to kick the Awoken from the Federation is the same one who brought them in quite recently. It's a weird flip. It's also their own vassal, and the Qvach are also the ones who invited the Kressek and Dar Hesh Spiritualists who conflict with the Fanatic Materialists of the Awoken.
