Extreme lag on 2nd day of the month (every couple of months)

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Every year on 2nd day of the month game completely freezes. I cleansed the galaxy since I thought pops were causing issues, but now I feel bad for it since that was not the case.

Steps to reproduce the issue.
Just press play on the fastest and wait a minute or two.

Same problem, nothing to do to resolve it...
Wait for the update, maybe it get's fixed.
An alternative is to add an mod that expands the technology tree. (I'm not 100% sure about this)

Never noticed a problem until recently when I did an extra-long campaign and some time post year 2500 the game is just stuck processing the 2nd day every few months. Its definitely not lag since my game is cruising when its not frozen, in part thanks to me letting the crisis murder 95% of the AIs

Same issue here. Small map, after year 2400 the "2nd month" lag started to become really annoying. Sometimes it's a few seconds, sometimes a full minute. Not every month, but often enough to become disruptive of fun. I have no sectors or planets on automatic, doing everything manually. Playing online with one other and we pretty much wiped out everything and are waiting for the crisis to happen, now at year 2479 and playing at fastest to wait for stuff to happen. Very annoying if the game freezes like that for a lot of times!
Hope this will be fixed in the new update.

i thought it become lagging every 2nd day because i necrophage too many pops at once thanks to purposely create tons of vassal with one system and yes they really hate me to guts with necrophage opinion -500 and mysterious disappear -100 and there's nothing they could do about it beside being disloyal vassal, but it doesn't seem the case here.
great khan, tempest and prethoryn swarm crisis already end and only awakened materialist empire and fallen machine empire left and they could only be boxed because all empire beside one driven assimilator being my subsidiary empire, i'm leading trade league federation and being custodial of galactic community since i role play United States of America and spreading liberal capitalist in the galaxy and become beacon of freedom as megachurch and most if not all of my subsidiary being spiritualist as well. i didn't become galactic emperror because i don't want to disband my federation fleet also no automation and i did all 70 colony manually without automation what so ever.

I have tested this, and even when I killed the whole galaxy and left only 100 of my pops, the game still lags a lot. This is weird since it was really fast with over 1500 pops in my empire.
Something else might be triggering this but I have no idea what.
@Eladrin can you please ask someone to look into this?

So I played my game to year 2700+ now and have started getting close to 50 times repeatable technology. What I have noticed is that the game lags precisely on the 2nd of the month when technology research is completed. I think it may have something to do with calculating how the modifiers affect the empire?

You can prevent the lags by not researching the repeatable technologies. If you have every other technology completed, do not research anymore.
Not a pretty solution, but it confirmes that the repeatable technologies do cause this.
