Extremely Hypped by this DLC.

I hope in the future "Leviathans" or other giant creatures will be more numerous and have a better role than just being killed.
(I would love to see a system with 2 ether drake in it, Matriarch and Patriarch, the patriarch being an even stronger version than the normal drake)
Would be so cool ...

Though on a side note, Stellaris 2.0 has just comes out and already a new DLC ?
I would have preferred this DLC to come like 1 months after the "Niven" update. It's just too fast and the current version still need fixing :/

I totally get that with regard to the new content in the DLC itself, but some of what's coming in the free update seems centered on tweaking the mechanics introduced 2.0 so that they function better. In that sense, some of the "new" mechanics here are really just supplements and extensions of the 2.0 changes. Things like the clustered hyperlanes, the anomaly tracker, anomaly fail risk, and science ships being able to partly get around hyperlane restrictions are all part of that. Obviously bug fixes are part of that too, but that's always a given.

I don't see 2.1 as them jumping ahead, I see it as ironing out 2.0.

I agree with you totally.

I got a kinda random question about the new Gateways...
Do the L-Gates share the exact same model as normal Gateways, or is a different model, just made to look the same?
Basically, let's say someone makes a mod to change Gateways, would it by default change L-Gates as well?
If not, this gives me some ideas...

I'm a bit curious about this because after looking at my Paradox account and what games I have(all bought through Steam), half of them aren't listed there so I'm wondering what I have to do to get them all listed or what I'll have to do to get the expansion linked to my Steam account if I pre-order it?

Do you have the forum set to remember you and keep you logged in? I remember seeing somewhere that the games only sync on your next log in, so try logging out, then back in again...
If not, I believe there is a way to manually sync them by registering the product key. The button to do so it at the top of the page, next to the Forums and Wiki buttons.

Going to wait til it's released and reviewed before purchasing. Don't like going into a purchase blind. I don't need a breakdown of every encounter. But a few examples, a hard number on the anomalies would be neat.

Is anyone else having trouble downloading any extra's (especially wallpapers) from the Paradox Plaza? I pre-ordered both distant stars and parklife (cities skylines), but I cannot download the wallpapers. Even more strange, I cannot download my Hearts of Iron IV Preorder wallpaper anymore either :( . Anybody can help?
I tried downloading on different browsers, doesn't fix it.

I was really looking forward to something like this, but 2.0 screwed the game up so much I will probably spend no more money on paradox anymore. Stellaris is more or less OK still, but the change was so gamebreaking, you cant be sure not to have "pong" after any next patch.

Sad, I really was looking forward to Battletech aswell...

Stellaris Distant Stars is make it or brake it release for Paradox. It will truly be a test if a 2.0 patch paid off and if the new direction Stellaris is taking, was worth the shot. In dev diaries we were promised that with removal of FTL we would get more stories and the focus would shift towards more story based play, which could be something refreshing. I think there is a lot of potential, but I would say that there is more pressure on dev's to make HQ addition, more than ever and at the same time fix still present A.I bug issues. I personally will wait this time patiently a while before buying this addition to see what the gameplay is like first via youtube videos etc. I think intersting plot development would be if alternative universes would have also alternative travel methods, like there would be universe with only wormhole travel etc. Players would have to use PSI drive to get first to alternative universe, then only use PSI drive or switch to that universe's dominant form of transportation.

I have an idea. How about universes merging event and some sort of fundamental game changing choice from such event?

More and more disappointing. Regardless of the new DLC contents are good or not, this is definitely not a right timing to announce DLC. There are still so many people complaining about current version. Paradox should have completed current version first even if Paradox has separate teams to develope new contents.
