So, thinking about this some more... is there any actual drawback to having a branch office of a non-criminal megacorp on your worlds? Do they appropriate some of the trade value of that world for themselves, or do they simply generate extra revenue for themselves while adding jobs for your pops?

Yes, it's possible to reform to and from a MegaCorp.

I saw in the streaming that combining Gospel of Masses with Criminal Heritage doesn't change the empire's name type, prevailing the "Criminal syndicate". I think it would be cool if having both civics had an special name, like "Cultist sect", or something like that. Have you thought of giving an special empire's name for having both civics?

Choosing both criminal heiritage and Gospel of the masses should give you a unique government description not just megachurch or crime syndicate.
I would suggest Subversive Cult.

Other than making the Corp stronger? No, not really. It's supposed to be mutually beneficial.

You don't, at least not unless they're a criminal syndicate. In that case you can try shutting them down with lots of Enforcers, but ultimately you have no guaranteed way of evicting them. That's the price of being unwilling to consider armed conflict.
