Soviet naval doctrine (unsurprisingly) varied quite a bit over time. Go back the '30s, and you're looking at plans to build 15 Sovetsky Soyuz class battleships....

The threat is no more! After a concentrated effort the machine menace was defeated, with Family franchises now starting to expand into former Valtun space (which are being re-colonized with Half-Valtuns, fittingly.) The Grand Family Fleet, headed by the Don himself, clashed with the USSR in the Krasnodar system - utterly destroying their forces! Despite suffering losses, the fleets of The Family are still the largest in the galaxy - more extensive than even that of the Terkardian Utopia. With the mechanical threat gone, such a fleet could be used to produce many new business opportunities...

Pictured is the current Don, residing in the bridge of one of the Family Titans - overlooking the Capital. Sat upon a throne fashioned out of the spoils of war he ponders his next move.

Shame about the technical issues today, hopefully they get it sorted for next week.

On another note, can I just say I am honestly impressed by the UNG? Like just a few episodes ago they were on the brink of total annihilation in the face of the robots. Now through a mix of cunning, political savvy and, yes, snivelling cowardice and opportunism, they control more territory than they ever have before, have mostly returned to their original values, are higher in score than the Räterepublik and the Termites who once beat them around and have the full support of two of the most powerful nations in the galaxy. Say what you like about the UNG, but they sure know how to survive.

Well...they are humans after all. The UNG is a fascinating reflection of the human psyche.

And here I was thinking that the Terkadians were going to "Pacify" the Awakened Empires and ensure no one gets the Fallen Empire Tech. All in the name of Peace.

Welcome back, Rephlex!

Some years ago we decided to rebrand ourselves to Flexr in order to signify our new direction.
While the decision made sense at the time, we feel like something was lost in the process.
Therefore we are now going back to our roots, and what better way to kickstart that initiative than to adapt our founding name *Rephlex Inc.*!
We know this is the right way forward, and hope you do too.

Rephlex - Never satisfied

Is it a terrible idea to ask that the crisis modifier be pushed to x4 or x5? It's Normal mode, meaning the crisis FPs wouldn't get astronomical, and clearly NATO on their own can already squish 400K fleets, trivializing a x2 crisis which spawns fleets far smaller than that (and would know how to build fleets to exploit the obvious weaknesses of a crisis faction). It would be nice if the End Game Crisis actually showed us a struggle for survival.

I'm going to second this. Between NATO, the Family, and the Terkardians(and to a lesser extent the Church of Chains), anything short of a 5x Crisis is trivial at this point. They one shotted an awakened empire, with little difficulty. Sure, half the galaxy is joke empires, but the crisis would have to spawn there, and the empires who could deal with it would have to be willing to let it grow, but for what reason I cannot fathom, as at this point there it's not like any of them are a threat to their (possible) victory.

The gang bang on the Awakened Empire prior to the War in heaven is a huge let down, you will lose a lot of viewers now, it was the one thing we all wanted to watch. Not in the spirit of the game. If WIZ was here he would blow his stack at you guys. While it is smart play, its a bit cheesy. A huge disappointment for the audience. I hope WIZ makes the crisis X 10 to crush you guys as punishment.

However what this highlights to all you Devs is just how easy an Awakened Empire can be defeated. I have seen it time and time again with the AI, huge Federations just roll over them. Rarely is an Awakened Empire a problem, why it always fires too late in the game.

Return the triggers for Fallen Empires to awakened based on fleet strength and certain techs being researched. Once Empires start hitting 50k, 70-80k fleets a fallen empire should be waking up. If one empire has 50k a Federation could easily field 250k fleets, which makes fighting the Awakened Empire easy if they send just one fleet.

Another option is increase there fleet power, fleet size to make it more of a challenge. Should be a start option as to how powerful you want to make Awakened Empires. To easy to snipe 1 or 2 Awakened Empire fleets, then they are easy. If the fleets were more powerful it would be a lot more strategic in how you go about it.

The main issue is though by improving the AI, playing on Grand Admiral or Admiral the AI fields massive fleets by 200 years in, mostly better then the Devs, sorry but the AI gets a lot more advantages. The Awakened empires need to tier up so there fleets are more powerful if playing on a higher difficulty level otherwise the AI's crush them.

Awakened Empires, turn into a fizer and War in Heaven can be a non-event.

Similar for the Khan if it fires 120 years into the game the Khan doesn't last too long. Khan needs to fire right around the 100 year mark other wise its a non event as well on the high difficulty levels. If this tiered up as well with the higher difficulty levels it would be so much more of a challenge.

I use mods to so the Fallen Empires wake up earlier with more realistic triggers. This should be hardcoded. Difficulty of Khan, Awakened Empires should tier with difficulty levels otherwise the advantages the AI Empires get is to much and it turns into a non-event most games.
