This should not require any explanation whatsoever, but take a look at this:

Look at how far ahead my Titans are from the fleet. This is with Carrier AI. Why on earth are they so ridiculously suicidal? Why is the ship with more range than any ship in the fleet so far ahead from the fleet that it's closer to the enemy fleet. I lost all 3 Titans to this battle with 2 5X Prethoryn fleets. This should not be happening. My battleships are behaving as sensibly as I've ever seen a ship behave in this game, they have a bunch of Scout Craft on them with a Station building, a Juggernaut and 3 Admirals boosting the range on these things to twice their normal range. We can clearly see that the Tachyon Lances are sniping the Prethoryn Battleships from that distance, so why are the Titans so much closer even though they have nearly double the range? They should be behind the lines at best or at the very least on the front line, not so close to the enemy fleet it literally dies in a single day.
