Description
AI is apparently buying resources for free in the market
Game Version
2.2.1, 2.2.2
What version do you use?
Steam
What expansions do you have installed?
Utopia,
Do you have mods enabled?
No
Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
When taking over every AI, it says that it bought vast amounts of resources in the market while having sold none at all. Their economy output cannot explain how they were able to get these many resources. Also this was observed on 85% of the normal and advanced empires, the remaining ones being the one with negative balance.
There's a difference between 2.2.1 and 2.2.2: they 'steal' far more in 2.2.1 than in 2.2.2 but it still is subsequent.
In 2.2.2, by 2210, most AI have bought 500 alloys (5.28 each = 2640), 900 minerals (1.3 each = 1770), 300 food (1.3 each = 390), 50 consumer goods (2.3 each = 115) => total equivalent: 4915 energy credits, pretty much always in these numbers. They sold 0. And as much as I can say, they bought it in one go so one could say it's actually scripted. Advanced AI has 250 alloys and 600 minerals from the start in the market. This is equivalent to say they stand at a minimum of +30 energy credits/month since the beginning of the game while they are actually currently standing at +4 to +7 so it's mathematically impossible. I checked and there are too many AI going with this trope to be a research event related thing.
In 2.2.1 most AI have bought over 2000 alloys. Similar numbers for minerals, food and consumer goods.
The screenshots are from 2.2.1. They shows only alloys but the average energy credits cost equivalent stands between 10k and 20k depending of the AI investigated.
This was observed and confirmed by a few number of players on the Stellaris steam forum.
Steps to reproduce the issue.
- start a new game default settings on enseign (which is the default I think), do NOT check iron game
- open the console
- type observe
- set speed to fastest
- wait until 2210
- pause
- type play 1
- check the empire situation and market
- type play 2
- check the empire situation and market
- ...
