Hello Stellaris Team! Unfortunately I have the problem that I can't play Stellaris, which I bought some time ago on Steam. I have the problem that the game in the loading screen crashes at 30%.
After some research on the internet I came across the solution to remove the controller (in my case the Steam Controller) and mouse from my PC. This solution was only a partial success. In the start menu of Stellaris I click on "play", I hang the mouse from the PC and the game loads to 100%. In the next window I see the patch notes (patch 2.2 "Le Guin"), which I have to confirm with a mouse click. I connect the mouse and the game immediately crashes again.
I then contacted the Stellaris page on Facebook again - they gave me the following advice:
We can only recommend that you try to uninstall the game, remove all leftover files (in the game's installation folder and your "documents" folder) and try to install it again, with no controller, no mods and using the latest "test" branch. You can enable it via the beta tab in your game's properties on Steam.
I uninstalled the game, deleted the Stellaris folder in the directory "Documents", let CCleaner run over it, restarted my PC, installed Stellaris without mods, activated the beta "stellaris_test - testing and crossplay branch", unfortunately it didn't work.
If the mouse is connected to the PC and I start the game, it crashes when the loading bar reaches the 30 percent mark. I disconnected the mouse after pressing the "play" button, the game started without problems. When the patch notes appeared I connected the mouse again, I could even confirm the patch notes (by checking the box "Do not show again").
A few seconds after confirming the patch notes the game crashed again. I repeated this process again, but after the game was 100% loaded, the patch notes reappeared. I connected my mouse to the PC again and Stellaris crashes again.
Computer specs:
I would be very grateful if anyone could help me with my problem...I would love to play Stellaris again!
Marc
