Description
[3.4.3] [9d15] Aquatic Titan stern section has the wrong turret mountpoints, resulting in hidden turrets
Game Version
3.4.3
What version do you use?
Steam
What expansions do you have installed?
Synthetic Dawn, Utopia, Leviathans Story Pack, Apocalypse, Megacorp, Distant Stars, Ancient Relics, Lithoids, Federations, Nemesis, Aquatics
Do you have mods enabled?
No
Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
The Aquatic Titan stern section has no visible turrets even when you place weapons into the slots.
However, weapons mounted in that section still fire from the back of the Titan instead of from the system center.
This is because in the ship designer, mousing over the stern section weapon slots reveals that the turret mountpoints are placed within the ship.
The mountpoints should be on top of the ship where the visual turret hard points are.
You can see this bug even in the empire creation screen (Ship Appearance).
I tested this with and without mods and the issue persisted. I've attached screenshots from a test session that show the bug.
I'm suspecting this is a mesh issue where the weapon_locators are in the wrong place, but it would be nice for the developers to confirm this. Apologies if this issue has been reported before as searching for this issue on the forums revealed no results.
Steps to reproduce the issue.
There are two ways you can reproduce this issue.
- In the empire creation screen, go to Ship Appearance and toggle the Aquatic shipset. View the Titan for the Aquatic shipset and notice its stern turrets are missing.
OR
1) Make an empire with the aquatic shipset
2) Start a new game
3) Open the console and type
research_all_technologies
4) Open the ship designer and go to the titan
5) Put in all sections
6) Hover over any of stern weapon slots and you will see the orange crosshairs in the center, not on the top.
UPDATE: I checked the Steam store page for the Aquatics DLC and found that the turrets are missing in the promotional image showing the ships.
