Let me just start by saying WOW, the first 6 hours, or 50 simulated years, of Stellaris 1.5 Utopia have been breathtaking. So much has been improved, the entire management of your empire has been revamped, and I can’t wait to further reach my goals towards ascension!
Since I received such praise from my “Stellaris 1.4 Kennedy: The Final Empire” post, as promised, I will be narrating the entire campaign my empire experiences in this latest version. Unfortunately, my first story was not as detailed as I would have liked it to be, so this one will go above and beyond. This post does have spoilers, so if you want to wait to discover everything for yourself, then don’t read! Otherwise, enjoy!

Proof of Ironman:
Introduction:
The Vexirisii have evolved past needing sunlight to bloom, as a plant based species, they have achieved consciousness. At first, neurological connections existed through their planets vast rooted system, now through telepathic communication is possible across the vast distances of the oceans on their home-world. Adapting to the ever changing climate conditions of their planet, and the intense solar flares from their dying star, the Vexirisii have spent centuries harnessing the power of dying sunlight to reach a technological enlightenment and reach for the stars. If their efforts to find a new home-world are not fulfilled soon, then their fate is sealed as surely as the sun will set for one final night.
2200 AD
Up, Up, and Above
As we reach for the stars for the first time, we cannot help but be excited. Space…we’re actually in space! Who would have thought, only mere flora thousands of years ago, we have evolved beyond our own consensus. As our exploration into the vast unknown begins, we must search for a new home-world, before our star implodes into a massive black hole.
22208 AD
First Contact
We’ve made first contact with another intelligent species, known to us now as the Combine of Huogi Gagg.
Though we’ve encountered Ancient Mining Drones, even space born aliens, none have possessed a level of intelligence equal, or perhaps greater, than ours. We’re unsure if this is a moment to rejoice, or a moment to fear. We will continue our research, build our first fleet, and establish new buildings on our home-world as we desperately search for another.
2213 AD
A Home Away From Home
At last, have we found it? Vakradil Prime, a continental world orbits the gas giant Titan in the Vakradil System! It’s star is still young, and the system is thriving with resources. In an act of desperation, we will attempt to colonize this world!
2214 AD
The Unfaithful
Heretics have defected from our divine mandate, walkers of blasphemy proclaiming themselves as righteous, The Outcast Armada. We will deal with their petty ships and surpass any who do not follow our path. To further complicate things, our recently discovered empire, the Huogi, has declared us their rival. They, too, are now considered unfaithful. Though we respected their beliefs and differences, it seems we were not given the same hospitality in return.
Our admiral of The Grand Oak fleet made lightwork of the so-called pirates, and even learned one of their tactics, trickster. Though the fleet is still young, this was a great demonstration of the new technologies we have mastered.
2215 AD
The Great War
With the rivalry on the back of our mind, no one in the empire could have anticipated a declaration of war so quickly, so early into our presence in this galaxy. With our resources focused on colonizing Vakradil Prime, we were caught off guard, our fleet barely noteworthy, even our new pilots are still in training! Fortunate for our fleet, Admiral Olive Root lured the Huogi fleet to a recently discovered ancient mining station. Root jumped out of the system just in time, leaving the Huogi to deal with the drones. With their fleet weakened, Root returned, and finished off the first wave of the Huogi. Though some are quick to celebrate this victory, Root has a bad feeling, and says this is the calm before the storm.
2217 AD
Farewell, Little Flower
With the war waging on, fleet after fleet bombarding our systems, our attempts to colonize a continental world in the Phargis system are sabotaged by the Huogi. To make things worse, our admiral has split the fleet, trying to divert the enemies attention. Since our new colonies have no spaceports yet, their prime targets for bombardment. A strategy recognizable as effective by us, yet detrimental to our success in this war. Despite our best efforts, our lack of resources and unemployed population on Vakradil Prime are costing us this war.
2220 AD
A Dark Shadow
Admiral Root has died with the last ship in a futile attempt to ram the last destroyer into the Huogi fleet. The Grand Oak fleet stands leafless, casting a morbidly dark shadow over our empire. Was our fate sealed before we reached for the stars? Is the extinction of our species inevitable no matter what we try? In dark times, we can only hope that our last spaceport orbiting Vexirisius stands.
2222 AD
You’re Our Only Hope
Through a prayer undoubtedly answered by our gods, the XuraCorp Enclave has revealed themselves to us! Exchanging our stockpile of credits, we have purchased enough minerals to rebuilt our diminishing fleet! With the occupation of Vakradil Prime ongoing for nearly 3 years now, one has to wonder when the Huogi will start sending their armies to invade. We have no time to waste, and without receiving communications from Vakradil in months, we are hoping for the best, yet prepared for the worst.
2225 AD
Interception
After three years of rebuilding our fleet, the Huogi have begun sending their armies to invade Vakradil Prime. We have positioned our fleet on the outer rim of the system, avoiding notice from the Huogi fleet bombarding the surface. Outmatched, we hope to remain beneath their notice, and have begun intercepting their armies and reinforcements, and their fleet will cease to grow so long as we can hold our position. Though we have stopped the situation from getting worse, we feel helpless, to be so close to our new colony and yet so far, we can only pray the colonists survive. With most scans showing the entire surface ruined, we’ve begun planning the spiritual ceremonies to guide their spirits into the next life.
2227 AD
Against all Odds
The Huogi have sent their offer of peace after 12 years of war. After two years of intercepting their fleets, the tides of battle have turned in our favor. Though we lack the fleet power to retake Vakradil Prime, the peace treaty is tempting to us at first. Before accepting their terms, our priests had a vision, an epiphany if you will. It was foretold that faithful shall prevail, so long as we do not stray from the divine path. We refused the treaty, and determined we would not let these unfaithful species who spew blasphemy from their fleeting lips think they are victorious! We held our position, and continued to destroy all ships they sent.
2230 AD
The Fallen Ones
The Kedeshi Guardians, a fallen empire, met us as we continued to search our neighboring systems.
After our attempts to colonize a Gaia world, land they considered sacred, they threatened us:
As our war with the Huogi continues into the second decade, our resources stretched thing, we cannot afford another war, yet alone with an empire that pre-dates our own existence. We reluctantly accept their choice to cease our colonization of Gaia, disappointed the resources could not have been spent towards our fleet instead. Another habitable planet nearby will do for now.
2235 AD
Two Minds are Better Than One
With the holy land revered by the Kedeshi Guardians, our people have been drawn the paradise dangling before our eyes, a promised land we feel the need to dem ourselves worthy of. A new faction has emerged within our empire, Conclave of the True Gospel. With similar goals and virtues to our species already, they are happy with the current political affairs, even the dragged out conflict with the Huogi.
They bring influence and happiness to our empire, much needed in the early beginnings of our spacefaring species.
2236 AD
A Sword Guided by Heaven
The war is over, the war is finally over! After over twenty years of conflict, our new species has won their first war against another empire. We have humiliated the Huogi, and liberated their home-world to form a new empire, the Obhaa Foundation. Claiming they were blessed by our sacred intervention in their centuries old political turmoil, they have taken to our faith, and are one step closer to the righteous path.
Our fleet finally reached Vakradil Prime, the long though lost colony that didn’t survive the twenty year occupation by the Huogi. To our surprise, the govener and a few settles survived, though barely. When asked how, the governor humbly replied, “God gives his strongest soldiers the toughest battles”. So moved by his words, the people elected him to become the Blossomed, the ruled of our empire. Even the Obhaa were moved by his words, and asked for a migration treaty to our empire, hoping to achieve the same enlightenment as our species
2237 AD
‘Twas but a Sprout
With the Huogi conflict behind us, colonization again began. In the Brustam system, a star with 4 habitable planets, a primitive species was discovered. This species reminded us of where we came from, essentially sprouts in the ground before we bloomed into the empire we are becoming today. Efforts are being made to secure this system ensure it’s prosperity, and enlighten the primitive species to the space age. We know first hand what it is like to suffer the cruel and unforgiving universe we are still discovering, and hope to help all those we can along the way.
2238 AD
With His Dying Breath
Founder of the Conclave of the True Gospel, lead scientist Gold Nectar lost control of his ship while researching an anomaly in search of a new Gaia world for his faction. With no more communications being received from his ship, he is presumed dead. His search led him along the borders of the fallen empire, hoping that one Gaia planet would not be considered holy by the Kedeshi. His last transmission indicated he was close to finding such a system, and that his latest research into an anomaly would reveal its location. Unfortunately, the coordinates were never sent, and the secrets went with him on his dying breath.
2239 AD
The Price of Freedom
Son of Olive Root, Olive Root the Second, named for his fathers’ last heroic battle of the Grand Oak Fleet lost during the Huogi conflict, knows the importance of his people. Having experienced such a tragic loss at such a young age, he has faced doubt and uncertainty first-hand, and knows the fear of losing his freedom to another empire, the ones who took his fathers life, all too well. A champion of his crew and his people, he has formed the Citizens for Freedom Alliance, and has sworn to command the Vexirisii fleets in the pursuit of equality and justice for all within our empire.
Within the same year, another faction forms within our empire, with financial goals in mind, the National Investment Board is born.
2245 AD
In the Name of Science
With a time of peace upon us, we have continued to grow and expand. Our science ships have discovered over a dozen anomalies, our fleet has outmatched mining drones, amoeba aliens, even void clouds whose properties still elude us. We’ve even discovered a gigantic skeleton, who our scientist says only died because it’s dimensional portal opened up on an molten world. Exciting to think about, but fearful as well, what if another such creature actually made it into our galaxy? We’ve even discovered a planet of titan like creatures, bigger than our ships! Though this planet would need to be terraformed to suit our specific needs, there is much potential in the galaxy discovered around us.
2250 AD
The Promised Land
At long last, the heavens have guided us here, to the location Gold Nectar was searching for; a Gaia planet exclude from the holy land the Kedeshi Guardians believe to be sacred! Within months, our Frontier Outpost was established, within weeks, the colony was founded! The Conclave of the True Gospel are excited, and have provided even more positive influence for our empire!
As a young thriving empire, our first fifty years in space have been a journey through the heavens themselves. With mandates being fulfilled that our elected leaders request, our fleet growing, our population happy, our research initiatives yielding results, a surplus of credits, minerals, influence, and unity…the Sacred Vexirisius Union has made its presence known in the galaxy. The path to our divine ascension has yet to reveal itself, or has it existed all along, only willing to show itself when we are ready to see?
In honor of Gold Nectar, we have named our new Gaia home-world after an ancient word of our ancestors would refer to when pondering the night sky, a word he always referred to in his entries…

Special Thanks:
Again, to the community for such a positive response to my post yesterday. You inspired me to take the time to write this, jot down all the events, take screenshots, then crop/upload them, and create this post. I promise the story will get better. This is Ironman, anything can happen, and that brutal fact of reality is what makes this so much fun for me.
Last but not least, the developers. The update is amazing, the new music is breathtaking, and I haven’t even scratched the surface. As a dedicated player, I’ll be sure to contribute to the bug thread when I come across them. You have always given us a solid, stable game, and my patronage to you will be an epic story of my empire through your game. I hope my story inspires some new content, but more importantly, shows you just how much players appreciate the time and work you put into making Stellaris what it is today.
