Hey There!
I was reading a thread stating that the player base was leaving and It made me think that perhaps, by adding an expansion/dlc/patch that would include soviet forces, Eugen and Paradox would benefit more from the Russian market. Furthermore I must admit that the sole element stopping me from buying Steel Division is the absence of the USSR.
Is there any hope to see the superpower in game any time soon?

I could easily see the 1st armored guards division or the 8th rifle guards division (which was made up of Kazakh and Kirghiz personnel). Even a cavalry division like the 12th Don-cossacks cavalry guards division or the 17th mountain cavalry division. Soviet forces also included foreign men like the 1st Polish infantry division led by Berlinguer (nice fact: it was deployed in 1943 and fought in Berlin in 1945).

we can have the best german units and the USSR so we can fight with the strongest ground combatants of the war.

103 (503) SS heavy panzer battalion with the most elite personnel.. leibstandarte, das reich, and heer on the east were the best germany had.

vs. real opponent USSR equipped with the heaviest allied armour and with real motivation to fight. instead of battle of ersatztruppen and british waste bin divisions equipped with riveted trashcan. but i have a taste for superior equipment and personnel particularly, so eastern front is what i prefer.

If one love to masturbate oneself on big crazy and useless war machines early 45' on the Eastern front is the way to go.
That said, as I have already stated in another thread, Bagration is one of the worst operation this game could choose to re-enact due to the lack of proper German opposition. Only a handful of fully manned German divisions, lack of proper German armored division (only a few understrength one in the end) etc.

Fun fact : The best soldiers of WWII were not on the Russian Front. It was the Gurkhas. (so technically the Far Eastern Front)

some people like to think that the more casualties you have, more skilled are your troops.

You will get it in no time as this company is milking franchises more than making good games
There is no clan system or voice chat.

Both being irrelevant, I don't even want a clan system in SD44, while TeamSpeak and a few pings will always be superior to whatever voice chats they can pull together...
Do not take your own preferences as being the ones of everyone...

You are the type of doing organised vs pick up groups thinking you are skilled. You know a clan system and voice chat would prevail on you.

Where did I mentioned that I thought that I was skilled ?

If I am playing with friends, I don't care about a voice chat. If I am not, I don't want to hear other people yell at me, ping and written messages do the trick.

If I want to play again with complete stranger, I can add them to Steam friends and go on TeamSpeak together...

I want 10v10 clan fights. If you don't want to hear us then disable voice chat option just for you. Teamspeak is about 15+ years old btw. Nothing I ask affects you and you seem like a type who enjoys watching this game die with 300 players online

Ah, the classic misconception spread about by rather novice or narrow-studied historians. I don't blame you for thinking this (as I at one point in my earlier years of study used to as well) until I read into more of the lesser studied militaries of World War II. The actual best soldiers of this time were Finnish Sissi. These units proved to be key to the Fins and ultimately were one of the most deadly infantry in the war.

Not sure Soviet "divisions" would fit in: if I recall, a Soviet infantry division is barely the size of a German regiment, and would be lacking all the actual divisional support (SPG, TD, tanks, ...) which are only provided as corps assets.

I knew the Finns were good, although I must confess that I have not read much about them. However, mind that I did write soldiers not unit, the best soldiers, if they are poorly led or equipped, can form bad units. As far as I know, individually, Gurkhas were the best. That being said, my knowledge on the matter is of course very limited and I might be wrong. (notwithstanding the very hard task that finding the best is in any field of research)

This is inaccurate. When launching counterattack at the end of July 1944. 5th SS Wiking and 19th Panzer were full strength, HG didn't have any Panthers, but still had 3-tank-battalion strong regiment, two with PzIVs and one with PzJgIVs. 4th Pazner was in line for quite a long time, but was still strong. 3rd SS Totenkopf was partly involved with the Warsaw uprising, but their Tiger company helped with the offensive and throw 505 Tiger battalion on top of all this.

That resulted in a largest tank battle in the east in 1944, with aprox 700 tanks involved. Germans managed to encircle and destroy 3rd Tank Corps and elements of 8th Guards Tank Corps and the 16th Tank Corps, resulting in Soviet Second Tank Army being considered unfit for combat and withdrawn from the front on 5th August 1944. This and new Soviet priorities elsewhere, have stabilized the frontline at the outskirts of Warsaw until January 1945.

QUICK!

Give us more units so we can have Wargame: Steel Division and relegate 80% of them to the trash.

Can't wait to play Soviet Armored vs Italian Mountaineers in the middle of China.
