steam workshop: no manage button

Hi,

I had to use another computer than the one used to create a mod, now the "manage" button is no longer available. I checked the mod structure, anything is as it were. I uncompressed the zip and removed it and rely on the same file as I did on the first computer.

The mod itself works.

You've lost me, as I don't have any mods - where is this Manage button? Not in the game AFAIK, do you mean in Steam somewhere? If so I'm not sure what we can do for you here ...

Yes, the "manage" is within the game. Check the howto about uploading mods within the game. Who is handling the support of within game functionalities?

Well, if it's an installation or PC problem it's us, if it's a game bug it's Bug Reports.

I don't have a Manage button either, I go to Contents - Mods to see what mods are active in-game. Where exactly is/was this manage button in the interface? I don't remember ever seeing one.

Oh, so this is only for a mod you yourself made and uploaded! Now I understand. Does it still show on the original machine where you made the mod and uploaded it from?

I think the issue is this: on the second machine the mod gets downloaded from Steam to Documents/mod/ like any other mod. If you want to manage your mod on that machine you have to remove (delete) that downloaded one and manually put in the source files in the EU4 code /mod/ directory instead. The downloaded one "over-rides" the source one.

Your mod should come in the form of a loose folder, not a zipped archive - the game assumes it's not yours if you zip it. Accordingly, the .mod file should have the line

path="mod/<yourmod>"

instead of

archive="mod/<yourmod>.zip

That's was it! I had archive instead of path. Thanks for the help.

Were was it documented? I missed it.

I got it from the internal beta forum. No idea where/if it might be documented; I suggest you look through the User Mods forum, if it's not documented or known there, post it yourself.
