I just noticed my 'Time played' on Steam is listed as 9 minutes, despite completing several campaigns. I checked, and keeping the launcher open for a few minutes increased total play time to 11 minutes.

Is there any way to have Steam measure the time spent in-game rather than the time launching the game?

EDIT: This is with a fully up to date Sengoku 1.03 and latest Steam

I've tried both, but usually launch via Steam. I've also got the in-game Steam overlay activated, so Steam should know the game is running either way.

weird I know that Steam doesn't recognize when I play HOI because I always launch it from the game launcher not the Steam one. It does do so when I launch it from Steam though. As far as this game I bought it from gamersgate as I will with every additional pdox game I get because Steam doesn't like it when you add too games not through Steam and so I have found that to much of a hassle for me.

Do you have the steam enabled in game, you know the shift + tab to open steam options? If not that may be it, because it cannot monitor that you are in a game.

Sometimes Steam seems to decide that it won't count the time that you've spent in a game; I've had it happen with several games, not just Paradox games.
