Steam mods have provided some brief responses indicating it was a mistake with little explanation and are locking threads. They indicated it was the publisher's fault not Steam:
"The publisher sets the price, not Valve.
Buy the game or don't, no one is going to care either way (and no one is interested if you think the price is too high or not)."
Hopefully, Paradox will chime in to clear up the situation.

I'd love to know who this mod over at Steam is speaking for (and yes this was posted by the modds on the Stellaris forum). You really don't care I'd I buy your game? Ok....good to know.

Yeah, the mod's responses were rather insulting/unprofessional and I hope the mod isn't representative of Paradox's stance on the issue.

I saw the sales numbers, and it looked a little off. One of the special editions was cheaper than the standard. I think they just fucked up, is all. In which case, I'm ashamed I didn't try to take akdvantage of their mix-up.
Probably a steam error where it could just display the wrong thing. Seen it happend before or they just put the wrong price in.
If it's a display error the price would be what the real price should be when it was 33% off. Has had games that said it was "-0.12€" but if you tried to buy it, it would show up as the real price once you add it to the cart I think.
Yeah, I have seen it before as well, one major release was put at an apparent 90% discount, when it was supposed to be 10%. Seems like it just listed the wrong percentage. IIRC that was steam crossing some wires.

Except steam doesn't set the prices, or make the graphics that show the prices.
So steam dont auto genereate the small green -33% ,-54%, in library, on wishlist buttons? I know they dont make the.big adds. And steam do get their wires crossed from time to time. I mean, once my account had its content switched with a russian dude. Turned out to be affecting several people actually. Wether this is a steam issue, pdx issue or human error, I seriously doubt the pricing issue was done with ill intent.

Actually, the content never was switched. You just saw the tail end of their web session because one of the web services was caching rendered pages incorrectly. You couldn't actually touch their stuff (because you had your session and they had theirs) you just 'saw' the wrong session. Like trying to walk around a city while wearing VR goggles displaying a different city.
Oh, yes. Steam has had a fair share of typos. But no serious security glitches. The you mentioned looked worse than it was.Still, wires were crossed
