Steam Question on Preload

When will the game be available for download on Steam? Any chance we might get to preload the game ? Been waiting an awfull long time here :laugh:

Preload not really worth it for this small of game. Probably only a gig or so.

The steam mechanism for preload might be overkill for this kind of game size.
However what would be quite nice:

1. Automatic download when game is released.
Though valve might have some arguments against it, especially peak server loads when a game is released.
From a users point of view: User dont like waiting.
And steam has also problems when big games are released, certain updates are available or especially on "Free To Play Weekends".

2. Steam notification. In addition to point 1.
Checkbox: "Download when released and notify when game is playable".

The game is like a gig download. It take me longer to open a bottle of wine and pour myself a glass than it will for EU 4 to download.

It's punishment for not buying through the one true Vendor. We have low vendor tolerance in this province.

Here's what you do:

1. Download EU4 demo
2. Make a new folder in steam/steamApps/common and call it 'Europa Universalis IV'
3. Copypaste everything from the demo folder to the new folder
4. When game is released, simply right click the game in steam and select properties
5. Go to local files and 'verify integrity of game cache'

Steam will download the preordered dlc as well as the files that has been changed in the demo, however I expect a least 70% if not more of the files to remain unchanged, folders like 'music', 'sound' and 'GFX' will most likely not be downloaded again, in the demo this accounts for 600mb.
