Steam Pre-load is up!

When the pre-load went live, I also checked BackerKit to see if there were keys for additional content (Valhalla stuff, Atlas variant/paint job)... That wasn't there, but I did see the following:

Pre-Load is nice to be able to jump right into the game tomorrow morning (I get off work a few hours before release), but man this would been way better if us backers got to play the game a day a head of time instead. Looks like no sleep for me tomorrow as that is right during my sleep time (3rd shifter). Well at least I'm not going to be stuck at work like most folks lol.

There's a fun YouTube video where a guy finds one of the original analog modems in a friend's attic. He gets it up and running and loads Wikipedia with it.

I had both of those, the phone and modem, at one point... lol

I think the earliest modem I had was a 14.4K. I remember upgrading to a 56K modem, it was so fast. I could finally play Quake2 CTF with a 300ms ping. It was glorious! Then those Cable modem people started to come around with their 40ms ping and ruined EVERYTHING! lol.

Prodigy! Nice! My family had a subscription to Prodigy. It was sort of garbage, but we had it lol. I still preferred BBS back in those days.

Honestly, I don't do preloads. It takes less time to D/L the game when it's fully unlocked than it does to preload and then have to wait for Steam to unlock and verify the files (downloading any additional items that weren't included in the preload even on my Samsung 950 Pro NVMe). I'll just wait till tomorrow and have the game up and running faster than those who preloaded.
