Really nice :)
Looks like they have both upped the polycount and texture size for units since Paradox's lasted game ( HoI4 )
Can't wait to get started modding :D

>no Britannia and truncated Gaul

Ill be honest i'm a bit sad at this one of the big draws of a greco roman era game for me would have been playing as
Vercingetorix or Boadicea and kicking the Romans to the curb and uniting gaul/britannia

That picture doesn't show the whole map, they mentioned in the release statement India would be included and you can see in the Minimap all of Gaul and Britannia (as well as many other lands) are included that aren't seen in this screenshot.

So it looks like we've got currency (obviously), manpower, and some kind of stability mechanic. Not sure what the the other icons are though. Maybe some kind of laws mechanic (looking at the little scroll icon)?

From the icons underneath it looks like government(?) laws, military, production, and religion tabs. Don't know about the next three, but that last one looks like a family tab, maybe.

A lot of icons on the army on that battle pic, maybe something to do with tactical formations and/or battle options?

After the stability mechanic I think it's prestige. That crown of laurels hold by the hand is what they did in Roman Triumphs.
The other 4 icons seem to be some sort of monarch points, for mil, adm, dip and... sun points? Unlocking Sol Invictus super powers?
The other icons seem to be battle tactics, or battle stances that you can set your armies to.

i just hope i can play has the lusitani, in a resonalbe start date, failling that, then some of the greek colonies, os iberia would be cool too.

Oh yeah, team Lusitania is here! :D

Could be a lot of things. It could be a set of research pools, could be the more general monarch/nation points.

Perhaps the inevitable dev diary will help. :|

Also looks like a start date of 450BC, assuming they took the pics right after game start.

EDIT: Or is the date in AUC? So 303?

Assuming that is right at game start and judging by Rome's borders, it is in AUC. By 300 B.C. Rome was still in the process of conquering Samnium and only had presence around Latium.

The mapmodes also includes the sun symbol. I'm willing to bet it has to do with religion. Piety-mana or piety-points, and a religion map-mode.

While the map looks fantastic, the game itself looks like EU Rome II unfortunately. I was hoping it was between CK and Vicky game formula-wise, instead of CK and EU. That forumla didn't work for EU Rome, it was the second most underwhelming Paradox game after Sengoku which was another EU rehash. EU system is too abstract and doesn't fit the era.

I regret that this is not Vicky 3 even more after seeing these.

We'll be able to colonize new provinces? I can see there's a lot of provinces without any nations in Iberia, Africa, and Eastern Europe.
If you look closely that's just terra incognita. Some of the dacian tribes go half into it.

Province count is amazing, graphics are amazing too. It looks really good. Looks like a modern actually-doesn't-feel-unfinished version of EU:Rome. Better than I actually expected a sequel to EU:Rome to look to be quite honest.

Though I am greatly worried about the performance issues my 750 ti GTX will be having playing this... Hopefully its not as bad as I think it might be with the province count and pop systems + the graphics. I'll definitely will buy it but the question is will I be able to enjoy it with performance issues until I upgrade in like 4 years or now? It does look better than I even expected thus far though. I hope they make the character system more fun than in EU:Rome for monarchies though. There my modus operandi was just remove unloyal people from positions and pick the most loyal people(and if they have an ambition just give em that) for everything ignoring other character stats. If someone disloyal was in place who I couldn't remove then bribe/help achieve ambition. Did like 300 years of gameplay having no civil war as Macedon this way. Although I haven't played enough as a republic to say anything about that part. In my roughly 50 hours of gameplay I still don't know what each stat aside from Loyalty and Martial do on characters.

Still Rome 1 was an enjoyable experience - despite feeling unfinished/unpolished at times (my most glaring issue is the lack of possibility of vassalising countries or diplo annexing tributaries or generally the diplomacy system being lackluster).

In any case I can only hope it runs half as well as HoI4 or EUIV for me. Although HoI4 late game (1944+) is barely playable for me its never a problem since the game is over by that stage.

A few things I noticed from the drawing of borders: There seems to be a division into areas each containing several cities, equivalent to provinces in states in eu4 for example. You can tell since there are clear bold black lines running through countries, but the selected cities show a far smaller highlighted border. The same black borders can also be seen directly surrounding mountain chains, which to me suggests mountain 'wastelands' like in ck2 or eu4.
