Steam key for Savegame Converter with GG purchase?

I've done something a bit silly. I have CK2 and all DLC on Steam, but decided to purchase EU4 on GG since I know it's steam anyway and I got a nice 10% discount for having EU3.... Problem is, it seems the savegame converter you get is for the GG copy of CK2. Will I get a steam key for this DLC, or will I be unable to use it with my Steam copy of CK2?

You will get GG CK2 copy and GG converter. If you have CK2 on steam, you can use the converter with the GG version you just got for free to convert your games.

Seems like an idea to release CK2 for Steam and GG was quite bad

But actually- why not let customer decide for which version to get key for dlc? It's not a problem for me, as I've both CK2 and EU4 for Steam, but couldn't keys be sent by mail from shops?

Yes; it doesn't matter which country you used to play as you can just pick a christian country to start the game, use the converter, then choose a previously locked country in EU4 if desired.

The only notable difference is that you won't ever have an Aztec/Inca super empire in the americas, as that's locked to the Sunset DLC.

It should, just load the game as one of christian nations (if there are still some left ) and it will convert just fine.

And should you want that, I'm sure one of the many people on the forum with all of the DLC would love to help you convert the savegame for you - It's not like the conversion process locks the file to your account or anything.
