Steam Curators don't recommend the game?

I notice on the steam website today under endless space there was a red box with the following text next to it:

Recommended By Curators
"i do not recommend this game"

Not a clue why they don't recommend it, (or even how they can recommend it or not given it's not even out yet.) but it's curious none the less.

Just curious if anyone here can shed some light on the subject?

Guessing by it's name and the fact that it's the only touching a game that hasn't been released yet, my guess is that it's a bot doing the recommendation.

(Name of the curator: stea‎mcomumnlity.com) I'd advise heavily against going to that site.

Seems like a rather advanced bot to be able to modify the steam page directly in an area normal comments and recommendations don't appear on. *shrugs*

The link you mentioned is an actual link to a steam area surprisingly enough despite the misspelling of the name, and is located in Korea, Democratic People's Republic of so it seems "legit" in that it's an actual steam group, beyond that I'm guessing it's rather wortless and just spreading disinformation.

Err, the curator system was just added today on Steam. It's a section that's on every store page now. I'd still be highly suspicious of any group from North Korea, given the state of their country just now.

You'll note they gave the exact same "recommendation" on CK2. I would laugh it off.

After reporting them for not recommending games that weren't even released yet the neg recommendation has since been yanked from the Steam page so aye, moot issue now.

Steam curators are not Valve employees. They are created by users and you follow ones you like. It then provides you on your front page with games they recommend.

Expect the Curator system to be abused heavily in the coming weeks - Just like public reviews before it and the tag system.

Bah! I will have you know that renowned steam curators such as "Is this POSTAL" have recommended Ancient Space with high praise, consistent of "No, this game is not POSTAL"

The "new" Steam and curator system is the reason I bought AS via PAradox and not Steam.
It's horrendous! I'll be buying my games from the publishers/developers from now on.
