Steam Connection

So, it tells me that I am connected (at least that is what i assume, because the only option is to "disconnect") to my steam but I am unable to access things and my main concern is I cant access the After the End mod that I am trying to play

Did you click on "synch owneditems" on the https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?account/owneditems page ?

When I clicked to sync my items it appeared to not be doing anything and continued so for almost an hour

well, actually they are synced now. However, I cannot seem to figure out how to launch my After the End mod, my original goal. I have downloaded it and placed it within my ck2 folder in a mod folder, but it still wont appear.
