Yeah... I should buy the steam version... It's not like I have to pay more then 20 Euro for a game I already own... This is my only problem. I don't have to chance to switch to Steam if I want to do it. It would be to expansive for me at the moment. And I don't see why I should pay for a game I own.
I had bought the game from Steam if I had known that they would add special features for steam. But I didn't know it.

Note to angry people: Just wait for the Steam Christmas sale and get the whole Steam CK2 package for almost zero dollars. Some of you act like you've never seen a Steam/PI sale where this wonderful game is practically given away with all it's add-ons. Chill!

I simply cannot understand the GG whiners in this thread. Seriously, what are you expecting Paradox to do? Remake their own version of these Steam features and provide their own servers to host your saves and mods? Or simply refuse to implement these features so they don't make you jealous?
Steam provides a set of functionalities and PDS just make use of them, there's nothing wrong with that. And Steam CK2 already had more features than the GG version since day-one, namely auto-updates, game files verification...

Sadly, this is modern society and the Internet. Reality & reason (used by all) is just a pipe dream. Go look up "Vinegar" and "Chemtrails" on Youtube and you will lose all hope for humanity. :unsure:
I just want to have a chance to switch free to Steam... If I had known they get more content then the GG version I had bought it there at the start... And no I don't call auto-update a feature... It's a pain. The same with game files verification. I mostly mod direct in the files... And every time I start this game with steam they would destroy all my changes...
And no I don't want paradox to don't do it. I just thing it would be fair, if we can have the chance to switch to steam somewhere. This is my only problem. I bought the same game at the start without really differences (and no I don't count files verification or auto update as a feature...). But know they give more and more bonuses to steam. If I had known this I would buy it there from start. I don't see why this is wrong? I don't say "They should add this shit for GG too! Or noone should get it, because it's totaly unfair! Fuck paradox!"... This is bullshit, of course.
Oh please, don't even try to put me on the same level. I bought the same game, for the same price, and I want the same content. I get the feeling that PI is just going "f*** them, they asked for it", when it just isn't true - GG receipts were not sent to those who complained about it. The game was put in a shop and people bought it. Some did it because STEAM IS THE DEVIL CHANT WITH ME TO KEEP HIM AWAY, some stumbled on it. I'm not going to pay a single cent more than I already did - the game and all the DLCs, full priced. I probably gave PI more money than most of the "heh, whiners" people here. It irks me to be put in the "whatever" box.
Fair enough ... you bought on GG (for some reason i suscept which you believed Steam didn't fulfill ... 'DRM free'? 'Steam Hate'?) hence knowing not selecting to buy on Steam which have certain other options for developers/publishers ... Paradox decides to make use of some of those options ... would you rather
1. Demand that they don't use those options, making the vast majority of their custumer base annoyed? (although prehaps not as vast of a vocal majority since i'd except a much larger procentage of the Steam players not having a account around here)
2. Shrug and admit that its something that only work on Steam and GG simply doesn't support such thing ... i highly doubt that you would be willing to throw a much higher price at Paradox to build their own infrastructure instead of using Steams pre-developed infrastructure
... and what about the Gamers that have bought the game for Mac or Linux and have had certain issues ... should they demand a PC with Windows to play on since Paradox sells for them all but aren't delivering the exact same on all systems at the exact same time?

The problem is that I don't know steam would get extra contents. Why did noone seem to understand it? As I preorder the game I just know there are two versions of the same game with the same features. I bought at GG. At this point I couldn't know that the steam version get more features. Now... over one year after the realise and I had bouzght the game they added this features for steam. I couldn't know they would add them, right? How should I know it? If I had know it, I had bought the game at Steam. That's not the problem.
I don't want that they add this features at GG. And I don't want that they don't do this features... I just want a chance to switch to steam without paying for the same game I already own. I don't complain about the features. I'm just a little bit disappointed that I can't switch to steam (without buying the game a second time).
Sadly the must people here want to ascribe me that I complain about the features and Steam... *sighs*
Thure & WeissRaben - Maybe this is something we all innately understand but you didn't know: Paradox would have to pay Valve to give you free duplicate content on Steam. So if you want PI to axe staff or its business so all the GG people can have content that is not owed, then I guess continue on. It's great you want it so badly, but really - be reasonable and don't punish the PI team because they're adding stuff we requested.
BTW - I added the Youtube info as comic relief, not to lump you in with them. But when people keep telling you, "PI didn't have to do any more work PERIOD, thus nothing is owed in any way shape or form" and some of you keep saying, "I expect PI to give me a free copy of all my stuff on Steam".

If, when they bought it, it wasn't clear and specified that they would have had problems, or that the game wouldn't have worked, Paradox should work to get it to a fully functional state; or, failing to do that, refund them.
I would be ok paying the Steam fee.
Maybe because you're not the only one whining and not the only one people are writing to (even if you're the one i quoted, since you happened to be the latest talking head)
No you didn't, you bought the GG version, with the explicit decision to NOT have a Steam version. Now you feel sad about buying said version, but you cannot blame P'dox for that. You could have bought the Steam version in the first place, but decided not to. And the Steam and GG versions were (almost) identical when you bought your GG version, and still are if you just play your original GG 1.01 version of the game.

Well ... Paradox have two realistic options here ... use Steams infrastructure to make something that the vast majority of players have, or not do it at all ... and given that, all said, its a relatively minor things (that aren't in any practical shape or form, game changing) I fail to find it a reason for not doing it that there is a small minority not able to use it
Now there might be a possible solution
Logistically I think it'd be almost impossible to do some kind of special deal with Steam for users to pay the PI fee for those holding GG receipts (btw it's 30%)... but it's an idea But really, the game will be sold dirt cheap during the Steam Christmas sale (with all accouterments) so when you grab the total edition with everything for a measly $5-$15 think back to all the unnecessary angst over this. It's just stupid. Now can we put our brains together and solve the Syrian chemical crisis?

Well ... more than once I've moved a game i bought on a non-steam affiliated site, to steam ... latest such thing was when i moved my Mount&Blade (which i bought at Taleworlds before Paradox started publishing it) into my steam library, with no problems what-so-ever
Well they could give you guys the keys for Steam (assuming majority of users want to switch). I mean if indie games can do that thru indie bundles and stuff without incurring extra costs from Steam, i think Paradox could make a similar deal with Valve. It would be fair imho.
GG user here. I could not care less there will be no ironman mode or cloud saves. Personally, I would be happy to have the game without multiplayer or the in-game store. (What was wrong with EU3-style DLC distribution?)
