Steam Account,Reseller Website?,Paradox

if i buy from another website , not steam and not Paradox , can I:R preorder be activated on steam (it is steam version) even if my steam account is brand new account

(Note: brand new steam accounts are those accounts which have 0 games purchased,you cant add friends and some other features are removed i think )

so i m asking if i have a new steam account , 0 games , can i still buy I:R deluxe and activate it there, or do i need to have already ''proper'' steam account ?


On this website (i guess i dont wana advertise but its one of the most trusted ones) it says :
NOTICE: Activation key must be used on a valid Steam account. Requires internet connection.


i m not sure what valid means. does it mean just "steam" or does it mean "steam with full features which come when you purchase something on steam"

i hope i am not too confusing , i think veterans know what i m talking about

A valid steam account is a steam account from Valve. So it should work fine (I dunno if you'll get preorder bonuses, that depends on the merchant).

That said, wouldn't putting Imperator: Rome on a new steam account unlock all the features/level the account up? Or does it only work if you buy directly from steam?

website claims pre order bonus (epirus stuff) and hellenistic flavor pack in the description. only question is as you say is the leveling achieved with direct steam purchases or it can be done via other websites (after reedeming that code on steam)

The leveling up of Steam account work only if you do one of these two following things:
1)Buy directly from Steam any game cost 5$ or more
2)Buy a Steam card which is value 5$ or more.
The level 0 accounts are a Valve restriction to prevent fake spam accounts.
To answer your question,the game will be available if you activate the key from an other website but you don't get the Steam leveling up because it's a game key,if you want to level up,you need to buy the game directly from Steam.But you can perfectly activate the key and play the game from Steam otherwise.In the description of the reseller,valid Steam account means simply Steam,not Steam account with all features..Hope this has been helpful for you.
