Does it happen to you as well that the homosexual trait just happens to appear on your children without an event pop up or anything? Sometimes there's nothing happening and I go to my son and heir's character page to check when he's going to turn 16 and notice that he has acquired the trait 'homosexual'.

Yes, it means they've been discovered, it is the same as the bishop event, when you suspect he's into a bit of buggering. And you can confront him. Just see the trait as the 'coming out' phase, its an open joke amongst courtiers and if a ruler, other rulers. Hence the opinion hits. My current ruler is a lesbian, and she has three lesbian sisters, dunno my King was nay best pleased.

But yes, I experienced this occurrence myself when I built a large Ashkenazi Jewish Kingdom around the Black Sea. My son turned out to be gay, but I only noticed when I actually took control of him. I never got any kind of event. It didn't stop him heterosexually siring several sons and keeping my lineage going without need to rely on his brothers.

Everyone did it, because if you spot it in a child, its a behaviour, like any else. And can be beaten out of them, well, teach them to keep it inside their minds. But homosexuality in this time frame was not a thing, in the sense we knew it. There was no outting, you just did 'queer things', you were never classed as 'gay'. The word simply had no meaning, there was no concept. Like James VI & I of England, Scotland and Ireland, he had male favourites, who he, in his later life, literally drooled over in front of the court, but he was the King. And what the king says goes, but he still had a wife and children. Rulers simply know what's expected, and those who cannot achieve children drink until they can.

Sadly the past wasn't about equality, so yeah, beat it out of them, or don't. Depends on your potential ruler I guess!

Exactly. There was no such thing as "gay" because there was no such thing as "heterosexual" either. The great men and heroes of the past would seem outrageously "camp" to modern sensibility.
