Stealth Aces

I am playing a UK game with all DLCs and no mods.

I was playing a long session and got several messages that an ace had been promoted. Each time I looked at the list of aces, they were all assigned, so I assumed the game was doing a good job with the aces. I shut down the game when I was done.

The next day when I reopened the game, I quickly got a message that an ace had been promoted. When I checked the list of aces it showed I had eight aces ready to be assigned.

I doubt I had eight aces promoted with that one message, so I suspect that the aces I was getting the previous day were not showing up in the ace list until I had closed the game and reopened it.

It has since happened again, so I thought I would come here and ask if this is a known issue. I have never noticed it before, but it never occurred to me to check for it either.

In my experience not always, but sometimes:
For some "events", you get a message, that "something" happened; but you have to wait until day-change before you can "verify" the result.

Tends to happen when you you have an air wing in heavy combat. That is the one that will tend to spawn Aces...after the first (which correctly assigns to the wing in question) the rest will 'assign' to the same air wing (and look like that if you go to the list to assign aces), but since you can only have 1 per wing, they will show as unassigned after a reload. If you actually look at where it shows the wing they are assigned to, they will all be assigned to the same wing.
