This is a solid example of what I meant, I've had no issues with the AI being any more stupid than they were in 1.0.

Oh you have the issues. You are just not aware of them, for whatever reason. Did you know it's been 6 weeks since release and the AI still does not upgrade its buildings? I promise you that is not a problem that has existed since 1.0.

I would certainly classify designing an entire economic system around new buildings and their upgrades, then utterly failing to utilize those upgrades resulting in an economy that stagnates and dies mid game+ as "braindead AI".

You're experience isn't invalid, but your experience and experiences like it is often put in at very inappropriate times.

When a bunch of people are having problems with their game experience, and people chime in that they are experiencing no problem, it can appear as though the person saying they have no problem is trying to invalid the person having the problem.

If people aren't having problems, that's great for you, but maybe threads about problems, where people are understandably frustrated isn't the place to air your lack of problems, as it doesn't really add to the discussion and instead fuels the fire.

I do generally agree with your sentiment, I'm just trying to offer the reason why your experiences might receive a less than warm welcome.

This x1000

The "works great on my machine" posts are insufferable sometimes. Plus they never have any evidence or videos to back it up.

Along with the fact that different people find different levels of performance "unplayable". Someone who has spent their time entirely on Intel iGPU will likely be happier with lower levels of performance than someone who is used to rtx2080 levels of performance.

I know stellaris is cpu limited it's just an example.

The state of the forum is horrible. For example, the criticism about the end game lag is valid, but saying it over and over and over again get's annoying. The devs know that the problem exists, they acknowledged it and said they're working on a solution. But some people can't stop ranting about it. It won't help and it's counterproductive.

I wonder. End-game lag is not a new thing. People have been complaining about it, in a more moderate fashion, way before LeGuin. The devs were aware. Then LeGuin drops and not only the performance doesn't improve, it nosedives. One would be tempted to say that moderation got nowhere, perhaps a more constant/persistent reminder will help more.

Please ban me.

What do I care ? I'll just use it on steam forum. Come on.

Now please do not even compare 2.0 endgame lag to what it is now. Even 1.0 do not compare and far from it. Yes stellaris was always plague with endgame stuttering to a degree. Now it is unplayable.... not a nuisance, unplayable.
I do not care care if you, great genious, on your genious computer run the game to what is (for you) a greate state. I know it's not the case for me... and as a fucking software engineer, formerly CTO of a thousand machine park company I pretty know very well how to be sure a PC operates at maximum speed without pornhub malware.

The issue is all about engine. That was acknowledge so stop being ridiculous. No PC, no matter what is the rig, can run stellaris past 1350 on 1000 star galaxy. And if you think you can, just provide a video... I will be happy to take a good laugh.

I will. The thread being reopened I have no reason to actively be toxic anymore. That may sound childish but that's very important.

We have a game, in a broken state. Now either everyone work toward the improvement of it, or one member play against the rules. If so I will not call my lawyer about it but I definitvely will do anything I can to make them acknowledge the fact it is broken. That is done, I will now wait for an improvement.

If a modo juge it is worth a temporary or a perma ban so be it. I knew the risks and took them into consideration before acting. The only things worth to me are
1) an aknowledgement of the current game state
2) a plan to fix it
3) enough PR damage to be sure that would never arise again

No reason to continue as long as these 3 points are met

I'm more the playing by himself and building up guy instead of seeking a challenge so while I don't mind so much about a (rather) bad AI or cheating, I would still like to have this fixed. Or as an analogy: my mother in law says she drives "good". While for her it might be true and to drive at 50% of the speed limit still makes her comfortable and happy, if you ask the other 20 people trailing her for 15km, well their experience could a bit different (this analogy would fit even more about the performance of the Clausewitz engine)

About the AI: I recently had a devouring swarm with about 10k fleet strength in my neighborhood after about 20 years into the game and yet not even had Starholds, giving me a big WTF moment. Big fuckup, sure. What I hate most is that blatant cheating and yet after a headstart (overwhelming fleet power) it drops of sharpley in mid-game- if you're lucky not to have any asshole races in your vicinity which eat you (at least me) in the early game. Also I don't cosider repairing fleets (can be done at any spaceport) or repairing buildings "AI".

And my current biggest challenge is when you conquer enemy planets and have to clean up that mess the AI did to it's planets and the tons of fractions which will be instantly formed by angry aliens. Regarding the planet and starbase builds: there is actually a very good video explaining how the AI bases their decisions:
In short: there is something rotten in the state of Denmark.

A forum is for discussion. It's not for you or anyone to dictate what should be discussed.

Maybe some people are coming here for the first time to voice their concerns. Maybe it's the same person for the 10th time.

Ultimately it dosent matter if people don't want to discuss something then they won't. If they do then thread's will continue to be made until people stop wanting to discuss that particular topic.

Regardless... If you like Stellaris be happy that so many people are pissed about it's current state. It shows they care about the game. A much worse situation would be if nobody cared. See Armoured Warfare for an example of that.

Where did I say I want to dictate what should be discussed? If people would discuss it, I'm perfectly fine with it. As I said the criticism is valid. The problem are users that just rage and write everything is utterly and totally broken. Maybe for you being toxic is a discussion. It isn't for me.

I will. The thread being reopened I have no reason to actively be toxic anymore. That may sound childish but that's very important.

Behavior like this isn't helpful if you want devs that engage in the forum.
