Okay, got Victoria, and fired up a game with the Two Sicilies. I was quickly overwhelmed, not sure what to do first. I tried to open diplomatic relations with someone, maybe trade tech, but the button is greyed out. Despite disbanding a division and setting my maintenance sliders back i'm still losing money like crazy. I make some trades, granting myself $800 or so, hit auto-trade and i'm down to $200 the next day for some reason. Not sure if I should try to build more factories or manage my existing ones.. This is when I decided I should stop trying to play until I read the manual. Wish a tutorial was available. While i'm off reading please post your ideas on getting started, what you should do first, what should be researched, what needs to be changed. Thanks !

One of the first things I do is check to see what products I can produce for myself, then go to the trade screen to make sure I always have enough of the products I need to keep my factories running. I HATE auto trade, one time I forgot I had it on and was trying to get machine parts, and I was trying to get it to buy up to 10, and it kept reducing it down to 5 so I couldn't get more than 5 machine parts, even though there were some available on the market and I could afford them. I finally turned off auto trade and I was able to get my 10 machine parts.
