Just gave up on a game which was all but impossible to expand. Wormhole ftl with about 15 systems within range. And not a single source of energy. not one. Starting territory had 3 other systems, one of which had an 1800 point monster fleet, with the other 2 systems completely barren. Home system had 2 minerals.
Wormhole is the most flexible system which can bypass any threats, just look further ahead. And if you have no energy, just build a couple more power plants.

Try playing hyperlane. There, you can truly be blocked in. My current game, of the 3 directions I could expand, one is blocked by the Dimensional horror, the other by a Xenophobe FE. Barely managed to get a foothold in the 3rd direction as several other empires were there.

Where did I say too many minerals? I had two (2) minerals in my home system. That's it. The other three systems had nothing (0, zip, nada, zilch).

Tell ya what. Forget about it. There seems to be a severe lack of reading comprehension here.

Actualy he might be on to something. They might do something with galaxy generator with Utopia. I have seen some strange things like strategic resouces geting all clustered in to single area of space. My curent playthrou has strange amount of 1 enginering 1 social planets while there is barely any physics resouces.
