Hey all,

I just picked up this game and have patched to 1.2 and picked up Rome Enhanced to try out. I've played HoI 1 and 2 and I picked up but never really got into EU3, though I still have it floating around my hard drive.

I was just wondering which difficultly level would you suggest starting out on and which country is best for a new Rome player.

Start on easy

I've played a few strategy games -- none by paradox -- but pleny of RTS and turn based games. And the AI in Rome: EU is seriously a challenge on easy, playing as Macedonia.

The thing is, there is so much to this game that it takes a while to learn it. Playing the easy AI will make up for the time you let a general with a huge army, go rouge.

Or the time you accidentally reliquish hard fought provices to the AI, because you failed to understand the 'Sue for Peace' interface.

My 2 cents anyway, uninformed as it is. WTF am I doing on this message board, I must get back to Macedon.
