1. Sounds about right.I play alot of EU3 and HOI3 and while I owned Crusader Kings I never actually played it (got stuck on my to do list).
I am now trying to sink my teeth into CK2 and while I have worked out the basics of how the interface works I´m still having a pretty aimless experience.
So far I have started as a minor noble in western Iceland (where I cam from), I tried to get claims on eastern Iceland (my own liege). Is this the right way to expand? or am I missing something to do with inheritage or politics.
My second game test was as the King of Denmark. I fabricated claims on Lubeck and took it over, then I gave some land to my many sons. Is this a good thing? Bad? Will this break up the kingdom when the King dies? (as happened in some cases).
Dont get me wrong, I am liking the game alot, its just that currently I have no concept of a strategy to follow.
With EU3 I pretty much know what I want to do and more importantantly how I go about it. With CK2 being brand new, I wander aimlessly.
Any tips? on how to build a strategy (for any goal really, I dont mind more test games).
2. The kingdom will stay together unless someone outside your realm somehow inherits a county/douchy/kingdom.
As to general strategy: Try to keep your nobles happy, and keep your demense strong.
The happier your nobles are, the more troops you'll have, and the more income you'll earn if you have feudal taxes.
