So, running Divine Wind, 5.1, I started a new game recently and thought I'd shake things up with changing starting options. I changed "Leaders" and "Advisors" to 'Event'. Now, the advisors seem to function exactly the same; I can hire new guys all the time, people from different nations, and I can recruit fresh ones based on Cultural/Army/Naval Tradition(s). However, I can't hire generals or admirals. Fine, not a big deal, just means you have to be more careful with them. I played out the first hundred years, but around the 1480s, I took 'Quest for the New World' and discovered I can't hire Conquistadors or Explorers either ... :| .... Ok, I'll be last to the colonial game, but there's usually stuff left over. But it looks like EVERY nation in the game (including the regular ones who have taken Quest) don't have Explorers either. I've played now up til the 1580s and Europe STILL knows nothing of the Americas and is just now learning of Eastern Africa (via the Arabian Peninsula). Is there a solution I'm just not seeing here? I had assumed "Leaders: Event" would allow triggered events to generate Explorers and Conquistadors available for hire. Thanks for reading and any info you might have
