Starting Error

Hello,

I installed the game and was able to start it.
The next day the game stopped starting.
Now I always get an error message.

Can someone help me?

That log shows launcher version 2021.8 which I didn't think was out yet even in beta. Is that the situation, that you opted into the beta of the launcher?

Please try this:

- exit the Steam app entirely
- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user

- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam

IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.

Now i have the same problem again.

I uninstall the Paradox Launcher again.
Install the Paradox Launcher again.
I start the Game, the Paradox Launcher starts and there was an update for the Paradox Launcher.
I wait until the update was installed. Then i have to restart the Paradox Launcher.

Now it is the same.

Those logs look okay. Was there not a cpatch.log?

Is the error identical to before, including the mention of 2021.8 ?

Hello,

sorry i forgot the cpatch.log.

I bought the game on 07/30/2021.

After installing it, I was able to play it once, after that the problems started.
I uninstalled the launcher as you told me and I could play once. Then the problem started again.
I uninstalled the launcher again and now it does an update when it is started for the first time and I should restart the program after the installation. Now I get this error message again (see Error2.jpg)

Launcher infos before Update:
1.13.3-f9
Launcher v. 2020.16

I'm beginning to suspect this is due to your unusual Windows user name, the )-( might be confusing the launcher installer.

What if you make another Windows user on this machine, with a more conventional name, does the launcher work there?

I got the game via steam.
Yesterday I download and installed the launcher from this page. This version of the launcher works. Is this an another version of the launcher?
I know I can't play with this launcher.

I'm not sure how what you wrote there is a response to my suggestion ... I'm asking you to make a new user in Windows - nothing to do with Steam - and try the game there.

The standalone Paradox client (aka launcher v1) you have probably just downloaded cannot run this game. You can uninstall that.

I just wanted to test if this launcher (v1) worked while waiting for your feedback.
I also just tested your suggestion and yes it works.

I change now my Windows User Name (with Folder and Registry), because i don't want a second Windows User.
Now it seems to be working.
