Sorry to be signing up to ask for help instead of contributing anything helpful but I'm rather sad that I can't seem to be able to run my favourite game. On my previous computer I had no difficulties either with this game or with the ASoiAF mod that I added on to it., but on my newer laptop I seem unable to play the game after having installed it. I haven't yet downloaded the mod on this computer yet as my problems seem to exist with the Vanilla version.
After having clicked play game it goes through the typical loading set up steps ( much faster than on my old laptop which is wonderful) but as soon as it hits ''flags'',
I received a "Microsoft visual C++ Runtime library error this application has request the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application´s support team form more information" and the game would crash.
This being very frustrating I first tried reinstalling the game and getting the latest windows updates. No dice. Then I trawled the internet for a solution and some kind soul suggested deleting a folder labeled flags. This solved the startup problem but now all in game banners and flags are black. If this is the best I'm likely to get I'll live with it although I'm very disapointed. Ideally I'd like some advice on being able to get the game working AND have the correct flags. I'm willing to uninstall/reinstall as many times as necessary but I would really appreciate being able to play the full game I paid for ( and eventually the mod). All help would be welcome!
