Start Game at 1444 Date Bookmarks or later Date Bookmarks

I'm just curious whether most people start the game at the year 1444 or later date bookmarks like 1776, 1792 or even start at the Napoleonic Wars around 1810?

For me, I prefer to start the game at later dates during the 18th century when the European Powers are already at their peak strength and colonies already well established. As during the 18th century, most of Americas had been colonized and war seems unavoidable between the great powers. Hence, more fun. This is my opinion.

I used to mostly play later starts, but recently I've been achievement hunting to give more concrete goals to my games and all but one are unfortunately only for the 1444 start.

I play 1444 exclusively. Maybe it might be worth taking a look at later start dates, considering I never actually finish my games or go for achievements.

I used to play ALWAYS from 1444. But I've changed that a bit. Some time ago I started a Swedish 1700 game because I could never see very lategame when I started from 1444(would get bored after some time). An now am playing a Castille 1492 game, which is perfectly ok if you just want to focus colonising.
