Standing Army vs Drafted Army and Japan

I'm playing a game as Japan and intending to finish it out for once. Anyways just made China my puppet and its Jan. 1st and its time to move my sliders. Currently its at 1 towards standing army. Should I move it towards stand army or go for drafted?

Drafted Army is virtually always inferior to Standing Army.

Now, if Drafted Army gave Manpower bonuses there would be a reason for it.

But as the game has been made, Standing Army wins every time.

Besides which, you're almost at standing army anyway. Radical slider settings are usually better than middling slider settings. By the end of the game, you will have progressed through having a weak standing army setting to a weak drafted army setting, getting no real benefits

IIRC CHI benefits from DA, with full Hawk and near-full Free Market and corresponding construction bonuses. Add in Chinese MP and Human Wave doctrine (von Falkenhausen is good at it, Chiang is decent, and Whampoa is mediocre)...and the Imperial Army goes *crunch*.

Now, if Drafted Army gave Manpower bonuses there would be a reason for it.

Hmm...

I wonder if anyone has ever made an event that would give you manpower bonii for having drafted army slider settings.
