As we all know. Hapiness is not anymore a direct link to increase production like it was before.

Stability is the new mechanic and how it work.

So i decided today to find out how much stability i can get from hapiness and how much hapiness influence in production. Specially important if you're going Utopia, Social Welfare or Academic privileges.

46C83699F3D75CBBA4B743815D2CFB3BB6C87D42

8114ACDDC54D9AFF0829D876879C4F766109EBF0

Created this race and cheated a little to get 100 stability and 100% hapiness.

At 100 stability you get a total of + 28.20% resources.
But hapiness only goes up to +30 Stability = 16.92% extra resources.

16.92% Extra resources means every 1% hapiness above 50 gives now = 0.33% increased productivity.

Welfare and Utopia abundance can be calculated directly as they give a fixed amount to all POP´s.

That menas Welfare = +3.3% . Utopian = 6.6%.

It gets tricky with academic privilegies, as they greatly increase the political power of Administrators and specialists, but from what i can see its only worth now if you're going Nobles, Byzantine burocracy or something else that gives some extra ADM jobs to better influence the hapiness of the planet.

This also means pacifists gets a direct 2.82%/ 5.64% boost to their economy from the extra stability.
(And harmony also gives this boost).

If im wrong in my math please correct me ^^.

Nice job, @sterrius!

Focusing a bit more on stability.
At 100 stability you get a total of + 28.20% resources.

Is it a linear function?

Given that the baseline stability is 50% and (presumably) +0% resources ,

would 75% stability give +14.1% resources?

Also, do the bonus resources also include research?

(I'm new at the game and admittedly, I could probably figure this out by doing what you did in the OP...run a few tests).

Interesting OP. Keep up the good work.

I was estimating 5 stability to 2.5% production. Its good to know its actually a bit better. This makes it easier to see if its worth devoting a building to getting another noble with Aristocratic Elite.

I appreciate knowing how much happiness kicks up as well.

it does looks linear. But i did made a mistake. Negative stab goes up to 50% penalty.

And does looks like it includes research.

One thing I feel is important when it comes to stability is that advanced resource production modifiers now give 'free' resources through consuming less basic resources for the same raw materials.

This is particularly important in the late game as minerals become your bottleneck.

Eg. 6 minerals makes 3 alloys at 2:1. With +50% bonus from governor/stability 6 minerals instead become 4.5 at 1.33:1.

This is also why the Ecumenopolis is so strong with its inbuilt +20% modifier.

It's 30% resources at max stability. The month needs to tick over again I'd assume for the values to correct. First image even shows the number at 30% instead of 28.4%.

The value is linear going from 50%. So 75% means 15% more resources. Yes it includes research. Does not include amenities.

Do aristocrats promote stability?

What does an aristocrat do in Stellaris?

The wiki explains aristocrats in this way:

upload_2018-12-15_8-14-4.png

If counts and duchesses and barons and marquis increase stability, that might be worth it.

YES. Nobles grant +5 Stability.
With the Noble estate, and the +2 Nobles from the Capital complex every planet 80 pop planet will have +15 Stability.

Very, VERY efficient production.

Aristocracy is a very strong civic now but also a mid/late game one. Early game its not worth to use that building.

But it does give 1 noble free per planet. So it does give something.
