I was hoping they would. My ICSTR + ICBM + SSN... delivering nuclear winter to every corner of the world. 
I thought the US navy in the 1950's didn't have ballistic missle subs they had rail launched missles on subs sorta like a buzz bomb from the sea
yes, but that was hardly a very practical, widely deployable technique. As far as I know (and i've actually only seen that rail launched missle tech once), there was only ever one boat fitted with the missle rail. It was just an experiment.
The Polaris was the first SLBM in operational use though.

Tunny and her sister boat USS Barbero (SSG-317) were the United States's first nuclear deterrent patrol submarines. They were joined in 1958 by two purpose built Regulus submarines, USS Grayback (SSG-574), USS Growler (SSG-577), and, later, by the nuclear powered USS Halibut (SSGN-587). So that no target would be left uncovered, four Regulus missiles had to be at sea at any given time. Thus, Barbero and Tunny, each of which carried two Regulus missiles, patrolled simultaneously. IIRC, they weren't able to launch the big missiles until they cracked the nut of launching under water as the launch itself would damage the sub alot.
