Note: this post is about a new strategy that I would like to propose for Germany, I will explain it to you with a slight smile that does not want to offend anyone.

I am sure you have never stopped to look at one of the German ministers: Reinhard Heydrich. Ok, You know him but what can he do for you? Let's see his stats

Heydrich.png

I always thought it was vaguely interesting but only now did I understand how beautiful his proposal is. Are Wehrmacht soldiers fat and lazy? They disobey your orders? Heydrich has a very simple and inexpensive solution: the SS-Polizei! You have to forget the expensive and slow artillery, these are obsolete tools. What you need is someone to encourage your soldiers to do their best. The Soviet Union is not impossible to conquer, ours soldiers just have to believe.

For the uninitiated: the Police is a brigade that enlist in short time, it costs very little IC and manpower and you will not need to update it until 1945. If you have chosen Himmler as Minister of Security you will get a bonus of -5% build time and cost.

Normally the police will only give you +5 to Suppresion in exchange for a handful of supplies and oil. But thanks to Heydrich the police will give you a bonus of 30% ORGANIZATION and +5% of the Org. Regain. If you think your infantry divisions will be too fragile you can add Armored Cars as a second brigade which are quick and inexpensive to produce and will guarantee you some strength.

Mass-produce these brigades and your soldiers will never get tired of fighting.

Do not you believe it? Check out this comparison of the stats of a normal Infanterie-Division and an SS-Polizei-Division

This is the police cost. You have to create it separately to get the discount on production times up to 194. From what I have seen you must always create it separately and then aggregate it to a division, if you produce them together the minister's bonus is not calculated.

Arrrgh, Heydrich, he was one of the worst...

Mmmh, doesn't work for me.
# I have chosen Heydrich as Head of Intelligence
# dis-attached a MP-brigade and attached it to a another one: no additional org
# produced a completly new MP in its own production line, attached it to an inf.... no additional org

How do you do it to get your additional org?

PS: I've loaded the 1943 scenario for Germany in DH full and, while waiting 54 days until the MP was produced, just clicked away any news. Result after 54 days: basically the whole Ostfront overrun by the Red Army and more than 100 divisions completly lost.

I play DH 1.5 fixed, you can see It work.

Note: Mine does not claim to be an optimized strategy but an unusual viable alternative to Canaris and industrial specialists. I haven't tested with barbarossa but honestly yours doesn't seem like a serious test. I'm not saying that infantry will replace your armored forces but simply having infantry with 30% more organization should allow you more prolonged offensives and above all better resist the large Soviet counter-offensives when occupying new territories. If your soldiers hold longer you will have more time to send reinforcements to a newly occupied province and you will probably still have enough organization to continue the offensive. It seems like a good tactic, certainly it won't do miracles but much better than having the infantry without any brigade or an expensive and slow artillery brigade.

The way I read it, that bonus should only apply to the POL brigade itself and not to the entire division. AC does increase the Org of the division it's attached to, and you can see the ORG increase in the AC brigade build screen. But the POL in your screenshot isn't showing an increase in ORG.

Initially I also thought it worked like in this way, until I tried it.

Buy just see the screenshots of the final Divisons Stats. The police normally don't have an organization bonus of their own and the minister's bonus cannot be seen on the construction screen. Only by adding a police brigade from the pool to a division can I see the results and growth of the green bar. Another user says he doesn't see them even in this case but it's weird.

Infantry divisioni has 52% org, with AC increase to 55%.

(55 / 100) X 130 = 71,5

In the screenshot Is 72%. The Police in this way give a bonus to the division organization. I had try to add Police at militia division (with lower organizzation) and i have a different resoults.

I am not at home right now and I am writing from an old cell phone so sorry for the confused and modified messages.

Now I was thinking that the police bonus would work better on motorized divisions. In fact, these divisions often go too deep due to their speed and must resist enemy counterattacks until the tanks arrive.

MP providing about +20% org to a standard inf would be a considerable boost.

Still wondering why I can't repeat it... are you, perhaps, using a mod?

No worries, your English is perfect. :) I believe you, I've just never seen that bonus before. It's definitely interesting.

Works...
Might be that I looked at the preesent org instead of the value it can raise to... repeated the whole thing and now the units with MP show a considerable raised org which they could reach.

Well, this is definetly interesting. Good catch, Mimmmo.
From what I have seen you must always create it separately and then aggregate it to a division, if you produce them together the minister's bonus is not calculated.
Same here. Even detaching an MP and re-attaching it doesn't create the org-bonus.
Makes me wonder wether minister boni work as intended for other things or wether it is bugged.

Edit: Weird... I can't figure it out: for some untis it works as Mimmmo describes and for others not and I cant see the difference why it works for the one unit and not for the other.

I'm glad it works even though some weird bugs remain. What kind of division did you have problems with?

I have not checked whether there are minists in other countries with similar effects.

The problem about spamming certain types of units is the lack of a realistic system, dividing your soldiers into different age-groups and different qualities.

Example:

MALES
Age 20-25:
  • 10% available for tanks
  • 0.5% available for uboots
  • 10% available for infantry
  • 10% available for aircrafts
  • 5% available for SS infantry
  • 3% available for SS tanks
  • 0.5% available for Special Forces
...
Age 25-30
Age 30-40
Age 40-50

Hitler Jugend
Age 12-19
70% available for province-based FLAK

FEMALES
Age 20-25:
  • 50% available for HQ units
  • 1% available for province-based FLAK
